2. The tomatoes are so expensive now here that they're kinda luxury

Tomatoes are expensive here, too, and I think that is just a product of the global tomato crop having a down year. I think weather conditions hit tomato growing regions hard. Not 100% certain, though, but tomatoes are expensive everywhere.

Well, I didn't have that technical esplenation, but they are expensive in Spain, USA, Chile, Arg, and so.... [he is right probably]
