Italian ex-PM Berlusconi sentenced in sex case

Italy's former PM Silvio Berlusconi has been found guilty of having sex with an underage prostitute, and abusing the power of his office.

He has been sentenced to seven years in jail and banned from public office, pending the outcome of an appeal. The 76-year-old media tycoon had denied all the allegations against him.

Mr Berlusconi is already embroiled in several other court cases and was given a four-year sentence for tax fraud in October 2012.

Oh yes, finally. The "several court cases" are charges he's never been formally acquitted on but in a corrupt manner managed to delay the process by one means or another (Despite claiming he "cleared his name"), it's going to be harder to prolong the inevitable now.

Of course he won't see an actual prison for years, if it ever happens, that doesn't happen easy to powerful billionaires, but that's another issue for another day (Not that it makes it OK). The main thing is that he's finally been brought to justice for something completely defamatory (Tax evasion is nothing considering his back catalogue of legal issues) and he is no longer directly involved or is a face in politics.

The funny thing (Or sad thing) is practically anywhere else in the world, a prominent politician having sex with any prostitute even once is a major scandal in itself, for Berlusconi it's common and practically accepted that he is regularly with prostitutes and porn-stars, the issue here is that one of the many was underage (For prostitution). Like what the hell is that.

I'd even say with his behaviour and personality down the years its not even really a "scandal", with him it's just more of an inevitability, he's not really being demonised or shamed for it, because it's Berlusconi, what do we expect?
