My Boss got into Coldplay... :)

Featured Replies

Well, I just thought I'd share this funny story.

Something I do quite a bit, is whenever the subject of music comes up, I can't help but blab on and on about Coldplay and how absolutely incredible they are. How their music is far reaching to almost any taste, and their lyrics relatable to almost any problem.

Well, recently at work, (about early May) I found out that my Boss has been going through a divorce. I had noticed his blues but never really realized why he was so down. Well through the mouths of my co-workers, they gave me the whole gist. He had been married for about, just a little over 10 years. He has 2 kids. Sound like anything? Sounds quite a lot like something right?

So, the main computer in our office: we play music from Pandora around the office from that computer. Walking by, I saw my boss had created a "Break-up songs" radio. I had seen rented breakup love movies on his desk. What a sad puppy -I thought. I could see he was trying to find an outlet for what he was going through. Well, the day after Ghost Stories came out, I couldn't resist any longer, I went up to him, and basically told him there is an entire album pretty much dedicated to his problems. He was very resistant, using his past notions of the band against me, calling them a "childish" or "dumb" band. But all it took was one listen, and he was hooked.

He now owns all the albums, and we find ourselves discussing Coldplay now and then. I see its helped him greatly, and hes generally a very happy dude nowadays.

And if it means anything, that "Break-Up Songs" radio isnt there anymore.

Just thought I'd share :)

That's awesome. Proof that Coldplay have a huge impact, and their songs are relatable, as you said, to almost any problem. Thanks for sharing!
