Hm, I'd say with the exception of the Nirvana song they do spread over the different styles that Coldplay have been involved in ! If you want we could add the Killers song and perhaps also Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol ? Or maybe Keane or Bastille ?

Definitely Snow Patrol and Keane! I don't think Bastille would work unless we based the entire thing off the MX genre.

 

What about something by The Script? Most of their songs aren't really close to Coldplay's, but their Science & Faith album works!

I don't really know The Script, I only know Oh if you could see me now, so I don't know !

 

And imho they don't all need to be the same style !! :) I'd prefer a variation, just as there is variation in Coldplay's work.

I was thinking maybe something by 30 Seconds to Mars or Simple Plan, but I'm not sure if that would work. Also something old by Arctic Monkeys and A Rocket to the Moon(?)

Of these I know only Simple Plan somewhat. How about When I'm Gone ?

I know some good songs by them, but they're more of a pop-punk style, while Coldplay are more alt rock, but if you're fine mixing genres, try "Perfect." "When I'm Gone" could work too.
