January 30, 200422 yr i'm such a nerd for knowing this. it doesn't take anywhere near 7 years for your stomach to process gum. in fact, gum exits your body along with the rest of your waste right on schedule. the difference is that it exits your body in nearly the exact same form as it had when it went in. so maybe that "7 years" thing is how long it would take to digest gum if it did remain in your stomach, but the fact of the matter is that it's only in there for a few days at the most. :D
