Going to a concert alone

Featured Replies

Yes. I've done it. Go on the thread for the show you are going to and ask if there are any other Coldplayers going who'd want to meet before the show to introduce themselves. That way, you wouldn't feel totally alone. Beyond that, just get into the show and enjoy it. It goes by so fast anyway. Make small talk with the people around you if you are comfortable. Everyone is generally excited and friendly, so you might meet some nice new people! Other Coldplayers here have gone alone, too. Write in the Random Coldplay Thoughts thread about this thread to introduce it to more people. I'll bet you will get at least a few responses.

Even if you go in alone, there are like 40000 people there for the same thing. When I went last year I also went alone. Now, I have some social anxiety so this was sort of a challenge. I found myself a front row spot at the C-stage. Before the show started just loads of waiting and i even managed to chat a bit to the people around me. And then when the show started I couldn't care less and the rest of the night was absolutely amazing!

There is no such thing as being alone at a concert in my opinion. If you queue early you'll almost automatically socialise with the other early queuers (you're all there for the same reason so you have something in common, which makes socialising much easier)

I only ever went to Coldplay concerts alone so far, 3 times.

It was not easy I admit, especially when everyone around you seems to be in groups or couples. But like the others said, try to make some small talk, try to find people who look alone as well (not saying you should force a conversation upon them, some may not want to) but I for example would have welcomed it if someone had started a conversation, often it's just mutual shyness that prevents that ;)

If you have a seated place, you may not queue, which might make it a little more difficult. But maybe you'll be lucky and a single person is sitting right next to you ! Happened to me once.

I've been to all but one Coldplay show alone. Most of the time I meet up with members from here outside the venue, try to stalk the crew. When I went to Dallas I had three wristbands on, which sparked a lot of people seated near me asking how I got so many, which started conversations about how many shows we've been to and how long we've been fans. Just throw out a question like "Is this your first show?".

I also go alone! I've only just started going to see Coldplay but I intend to follow. Them as much as I can! Second one coming up in July! I've, Been listening. To them for years and got myself a tattoo aha! It's so nice to see other people. Go alone too makes me feel better,[emoji172]

I've done the 3-day Lolla weekend a few times alone. You may initially feel a little...awkward, but most people are super friendly, and once the show starts, you'll be bouncing and singing along to the music with thousands of others, having a great time. General safety, just be sure someone knows you're going, and when you should return. OTW, just go and have a great time.

Well, turns out I didn't watch alone. Was able to find a group of solo goers :)
