Uploading Youtube Covers of Coldplay songs

So I want to share a few covers of Coldplay songs I've done but the last time I put a cover up it got copyrighted so the audio was removed. Is there anyway I can upload Covers of coldplay songs without this happening? I've seen other people being able to do it?

Can you give an example? I don't think youtube can recognize a cover version.

Were you using a pre-recorded backing track, or you recorded the whole thing yourself?

I have gotten a few strikes just from my own audio. I used to use the song as the backing track, but I stopped doing that. Now it seems like it doesn't even matter. It's super frustrating.

I'm confused a bit. So you were recording the whole thing from scratch, or you were using existing karaoke type of tracks and play your own leads on top?

 

I've only uploaded one Coldplay song, but that's just a piano solo.

I had trouble uploading covers on YouTube because of copyright issues many years ago.

No matter what I covered, eventually I gave up on there and later I moved to Soundcloud.

As long as you don't use samples or clips of original recordings on Soundcloud I think you'll be fine there.

So in the past I have put the original song in the background. Recently though I have only been using my piano audio and sometimes I will get a copyright notice. Sometimes it says I can't monetize but sometimes it gets blocked.

I would never upload the official original recording of a band/artist to any platform...period! That's just a terrible idea. Yes, even cover of a song can have a copyright notice for the right reason. I just don't understand why they block a cover when the proceeds from ads can simply go to the original artist/record label...etc.

Well YouTube was very different back when I started doing covers. I never had a problem with it. But I agree with the blocking thing. They should just take any revenue instead of straight up blocking it.
