If the info I have gleaned from the "official" Coldplay website states that the band will never compromise themselves by lending their music to advertisements, then please explain why we hear "Clocks" as the theme of the recent HBO campaign? Why has their music appeared in the background of various TV shows? I am studying to be a paralegal (legal assistant) and have a great interest in intellectual property law, so the use of music, thought and ideas in a commercial arena intrigues me. Please enlighten me, if you can, how these snipets of songs end up on the airwaves without the so-called blessing and personal enrichment of one of my favorite bands. P.S. It puzzles me too because the BBC have been using Clocks to promote their digital services, but I can't actually think of a program that has Coldplay as its main theme tune. Dr. Romano was standing at the top of the roof contemplating suicide (because he lost his arm in an accident and can't work anymore), but he decides against it and just stares off the roof in sadness.
