Now, in the wake of sunset_scientist being (Quite understandably) a little miffed at me and Musiclovers adolescent anecdotes in the Lisa Hannigan topic (We wanted to 'do her'), what is your attitude towards sex?

 

Could you do it with anyone, just for pleasure? Do you get emotionally attached? Do you see sex as nothing dirty, just a simple extension of the relationship you are in and the passion you feel towards someone?

 

I can relate to a few situations in sex.

 

It can be, purely for pleasure, with someone that you like, but not love. It can make you feel happy, it doesnt have to disgust or revolt you or mess up your friendly relationship with someone.

 

But on the other hand, it can turn a friendship into a bitter thing, you can become attached, I have. Its hard to let go, you fall in love while its going on and the rush of emotions is just too hot to handle. There is no worse of a downer then falling in love with someone in a day and then having to listen to them re-evaluate the situation, and having to face that it was just sex for them, nothing beyond that.

 

Personally, I will probably never have sex as a spontaneous thing ever again, the pleasure is in no-way comparable to the downer you can feel if you become emotionally attached. Its horrible, it can throw you off for weeks.

Reilly, I think you should just forget about all that and move on...that would be best course of action now, as far as i can tell. and i know sunset would not appreciate this thread at all...and i don't want more flak from her, she's such a cuite!

and to answer the question: i've not had sex, casually or otherwise, so no...for me, it's serious business, not withstanding my getting carried-away in that previous topic. :/

i suddenly remembered this movie i saw last weekend (with very young and sexy-looking and beautiful Gwyneth Paltrow), "The Sure Thing"...and the hero in it always outrages the modesty of the 'catholic-school girl-type' character of Paltrow...and yet in the end, wins her heart and her love...

 

it was a nice movie! :-) 'cuz the hero is into casual sex kinda thing in the beginning, but love for this nice sweet girl makes him change.
