So the shows start again next week at Hong Kong, what do you expect to change on them, apart from very little? I guess it would be nice to see two new songs from MM in the setlist, don´t you think?

My moon music live Wishlist:

- iAAM

- JUPiTER (C Stage or Songbook)

- AETERNA (in full or LiGHTCLUB version)

- Neon Forest in full

- m.u.s.i.c.

By the way Coldplay, add Man In The Moon to the live set please!

Man in the Moon should be right now, it´s a great tune that would work perfectly in a stadium. Jupiter could be played on the C stage as you say, but I don ´t thing Music or Neon Forest stand a chance at all. Aeterna could be played (not live) in a transition between parts of the show, and I ´m not a big fan of iAAM myself.

I think it´s sad to throw an album out and not defend it and sell it live…

I feel bad for Orphans and Arabesque, those 2 would do so well in their shows IMO. As part of their live sets permanently.

I don´t know if I was the only one expecting a little more defense of Moon Music, but no news at all yesterday.

Thought I'd drop a quick review from the Denver show with a spoiler tag for those wanting to go in clean. My opinion is probably tainted a bit becuase unfortunately I was extremely busy the week before and got a really sore throat and canker sores so I coudln't really sing along or dance purely because of my low energy. It was also my first show in the GA section standing between the B and C stage and taken together with the openers and a thunderstorm delay, I was standing for basically 5 hours straight before I left so yeah, overall very exhausting experience.

I was really pleased with how Moon Music songs sounded and loved the inclusion of some intimate oldies but I was really, really disappointed by the crowd in GA and how much people film everything and basically make it impossible to see. The newer music clearly isn't keeping up with the classics at this point and the tension between old, alternative and raw sounding instruments is clashing even more with the news songs since AHFOD that are more synth driven. For that reason, I think this tour feels the least seamless and has the least musical fidelity. But the overall experience is still unforgettable -- the xylobands, the huge moments with lasers, fireworks and confetti. And the lighclub and puppet sections added some "WTF" parts that I think were entertaining and you cant walk away not having had a good time.

Spoiler

Favorite Part: Before the Scientist Chris did an impromptu song about Denver's rain. Good banter, good vibes. People thought it was funny

Least Favorite Part: Hymn for The Weekend was a culmination for me of feeling tired and having half the people around me on their phones and talking to the point where I could barely even be in the experience.

The Great:

  • Two songs on the C-stage!! Having both Sparks and In My Place crossed some tracks off my list and they both sounded amazing. They also played GPASUYF with a couple guitar solos that were fun and all the classic tracks from Yellow to Fix You were fantastic per usual.
  • Moon Music songs actually slapped. All My Love is a gorgeous love song, Good Feelings is their best dance song ever and FLIFL was a terrifc finale if not quite as epic as past closers.
  • The effects: The Xylobands have got way better and looked wild when the whole stadium was lit up. Fireworks were amazing, espescially at the end.

The Meh:

  • The overall setlist has a much weaker flow than past tours, in my opinion. You can tell the MOTS songs don't hit that hard and while I think the lightclub was really fun, it was super short and random feeling.
  • The Songbook was really awkward but Magic sounded good from Chris. There was clearly a power mom that wanted to get up on stage and sing with Chris and it made the whole thing feel like she was forcing herself up there while using her kid as a pawn and he clearly didn't want to sing but Chris kept pushing it.
  • My Universe and We Pray hit flat for me with the weird BTS recordings up on the screen vs real performances.
  • Lightclub & Puppets: I want them to go more deep on this. Make it more campy. Tell a story each performance of the band getting abducted by aliens and going on an adventure with characters. Because they randomonly appear, people seemed overall confused.

The Ugly:

  • PHONES: This was my biggest complaint. Everyone wouldn't put their phone down around me the whole show. It was incredibly distracting and as I was trying to enjoy songs people would try to push up between me and my partner to get closer for a shot. I had phones on top of my head on several songs. It really made it hard to be in the moment.
  • The audio was really, really bad on the first 3 songs which sort of killed my excitement a bit. I think it was due to wind hitting mics, but Higher Power, AOAL and Paradise all had weird moments that were too loud and you couldn't hear the bass and percussion very well.
