No, I bought the CD in 2002 though. I got nothing against Indian music, but the one in the musical really isn't that good. :confused: I bought it expecting it to be really good, but then it wasn't. The music in Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham (sp?) is a lot better.

yeah, i heard the critics were luke warm to BD, but it was still a crowd-pleaser in London. let's see how it goes in NYC.

 

and yeah...i don't like the 'fusion' that Ravi Shankar does with his sitar and western classical music. i'm guessing A. R. Rahman tried to do some such fusion of indian/western styles... doesn't work most of the time... :/

Yep, maybe it would have been better if they had not tried to westernize it, I dunno. :/ They did a similar thing with Starlight Express, they made it more contemporary (some versions that is), but they shouldn't! It's an 80's musical, damnit!

I dunno, I suck by now, too. Or at least it's taking me ages to get warm. :confused: And yep, we play with proper birdies. I prefer plastic ones though (the good ones). The feathered ones fly too fast, you need less power to play them.

my experience has been that the feathered ones have to be well-taken care of, or else yeah...they do fly off fast. but that's the "regulation" birdie! hehe

 

they even taught me how to fly test it...to see if it's too fast or too slow.
