Featured Replies

about the size of a small dime on my middle finger from playing the bass. it sucks

should i pop it or do something else?

I would end up popping it, but then I would regret it later

Hey mimi how do you get the animated gifs?

do dimes have different sizes? :stunned: when did this happen?? god no one ever tells me anything!!

pop it!!

Man, i got blisters on my fingers two times actually.

The first time i got em (3 months ago, i think) I didnt pop em, so they just stayed there for a week. it sucked, cos it was really hard to play the bass.

Then, a few weeks ago, i got another one, but i decided to pop it after two days.

it was a wise decision.

I asked my bass teacher if that was normal, and he said it is totally normal, and probably i wont get blisters again if i keep playing the bass, cos the fingers will get used to the pain after a few years. ha who knows? i guess it makes sense.

Don´t pop it. I know it may sound gay, but spread some mosturizer on your hands.

Yea, true, that kinda helps.

The first time i got blisters i used bandaids to protect my fingers though.

But if i could go back in time, i'd just pop it after a day.

It doesnt hurt, you know? and you get rid of it for good.

haha im not a bassit but it happened the same to me when i was playing my guitar like crazy..the good old days  i was like " man, i MUST play, no matter if i break my fingers or bleed trying" then i saw a lil bit of blood and i passed out.. bah :stunned:

I used to play bass in a band (now I play guitar/keyboards/sing), and every few weeks we'd do these ridiculously long gigs in bars just to make some money, and by the end of the night, I'd have some nasty blisters from standing there playing bass for about four hours straight.

Yeah, we'd play 4 hour long sets with half hour breaks between. And we'd usually be pretty much out of songs midway through the second one so from there on out we'd be pulling covers out that none of us had ever played and improvising the rest Grateful Dead style.
