The eye & the brain

Featured Replies

I saw an amazing program on the BBC on Staurday I think. Probably many people has seen it here, it was called....... well, something about the brain and the eye.... I can't remember the name really.

The things was that they showed three persons. And they were talking about how we see things and how our brain codifies it, so we can actiolly "make sense" of what we see....... and they said people believe that we see things, send the signal to our braina nd i just codifies it, all that in the blink of an eye, and that's it.

What they were saying, is that each thing we see, colours, motion, faces and objects, are separated regions in our brain.

The first case they showed, it was a woman and she, because of a stroke I think, had a litle damage in her brain, and could not see the objects in motion. For example she could see the train coming and the train next to her, but not how it approached to her. Or a person jumping, she would see the person up and down, but not in the "jumping scene".

and well..... I'll explain that later, the remaining cases, since .... well I have to work and I don't want to write that again.

Enjoy! :D

I think i saw something like that ... it was a while back though, so prolly not the same show. It was teh interesting.

ahh..i think i'd love to see that programme, i'm interested in things like that..post again if you see it advertised again

I think they are giving it on Saturday again, at 10 a.m my time which is 3 p.m yours, but I am not sure wether we sare talkign about the same channel!

Look at the chart below and say the COLOR of the word,

not the word itself.

Why is it so difficult? Because the right half of your brain

is trying to say the color, while the left side of your brain

is trying to say the word.
