These background dancing monkeys seem to be a permanent thing now. How cringeworthy (I found a new word: Chringeworthy !!) . Don't get me wrong, it's not the fact they are monkeys - I just find any kind of background dancers silly and not fitting to Coldplay.

I remember an interview comment of Jay-Zs (who used to have a rough past, I believe) saying that if he had come across Chris during his days of criminal activity he would have ruthlessly robbed him on the street :D

I don't agree with that. I know many persons who had normal lives on the surface but think a lot and deeply about life. Me included :) I believe most people actually do think a lot but if you don't know them well enough you'll never guess.

When listening to White Shadows, I always notice a background electric guitar (I think) melody during the chorus that plays single notes in a row. I think there is a high probability of there being a Live 2016 DVD. Also, there is a high risk of gorilla dancers being featured in it.

Yess ! Animals is correct ! The four-note melody this was all about, the initial riff of Animals, starts at 0:45 of this video: Compare it to this bell-like melody in Saturn, which starts at 7:06 : 'Twas a fun riddle, hope you liked it too even if it was not straightforward !

Maybe Chris realized from this what kind of songs can make it to the top of the charts and "learned" from it for his later work :D

It's not just Such A Rush, the entire early EPs are so underrated. They may not have been on the best level technically and sound-wise, but they are so deeply atmospheric and melancholic that they can really rival Parachutes ! It's a shame they are so underrated. You know how much I hate Stargate and no offence meant there, but I always find Hitler analogies of any kind highly inappropriate.

Musically inept as I am, I was so proud of having learned the Clocks motif that I repeated it over and over ! Today I am practising the Talk motif, which is much shorter of course.
