  1. i miss old shy awkward dorky Chris so much :)
  2. I must admit I bought a Happy Meal twice when I was eating at McDo instead of the adult meal to get a Minion ! They are so cute, I never lose an opportunity to get a Minion.
  3. Am I missing something ? Nope, I think I'm just sane.
  4. And so they played a few songs, apologized once again, and left the stage at around midnight, relieved that it had not gone too badly but also with especially Chris being worried if they would ever have a future as a band.
  5. At one point he even apologized for his hairstyle !
  6. Also, I wonder whether the bells thing may be misleading. It s not exactly bells - don't know how to describe it. The melody sounds like a bell-chiming to me.
  7. @gentleparachute: No....Read through the previous posts, Jedi Leo may have been on the right track ;)
  8. Maybe you're only on the right way there :P
  9. As they finally stood on top of the stage on their big day, looking down on a sold-out crowd mostly consisting of their college friends, Chris began awkwardly introducing themselves as Starfish, rambling on about some other things he could later not even remember, and then finally delved into their first song, strumming his guitar and singing "There goes another day, my friends are telling me that I would be OK, I'm gonna be okaaay..."
  10. Hm, I didn't mean to reply to planet guesses unless there is a reasoning behind them (otherwise, by elimination, this will get boring soon). So here is a tip: Why don't you take a good look at which planets have had classical music pieses written to their name ? :)
  11. If anything is wimpy here, it is this article. How shallow and locked in your own bubble of commercialism do you have to be to write such a b***shit ?
  12. How do you know what Uranus really thinks, we've never visited him :D OK, with one year of uni studies you must be way beyond my astronomy knowledge. I am more of an interested layperson, even though I did take one voluntary astronomy course at uni once. Well, as for the Coldplay song, I don't know. Maybe you hear that classical four-note melody and it will immediately remind you of the live song (if you have heard it before, which surely many Coldplay fans have !)
  13. Yes, in our solar system ! And as an amateur astronomer I take that line of Lady Gaga's as an insult !:D
  14. Imho Chris's gesturing during HFTW is cringeworthy, on par only with his gesturing during some renditions of Viva La Vida when he points towards his eyes or does other things which made him look like a madman. Honestly...
  15. I don't think it stands for LP8. It could stand for seven moon phases needed to make the cycle complete, which would fit with Coldplay's view of their career !
  16. Calm down everyone. It's not Rock that is "dead". What truly appears to be dead here is....dare I say it ? No, you can all complete that sentence for yourself.
  17. And it's NOT full moon currently, by the way !
  18. I know the singer's voice is not great, but this song carries a lot of Oldplay-like melancholy about the world (maybe lacking that Coldplay spark of hope) and I like it:
  19. The top right circle (full moon) definitely was not yellow the last time I looked...hmmm.
  20. OK, now astronomy has gotten me to think out a really convoluted riddle. It may take a while or take combined efforts to guess it. Unless you guess it right away because you know what I'm talking about, but hopefully not. IF YOU KNOW STRAIGHT AWAY WHAT THE ANSWER IS (FOR EXAMPLE BECAUSE YOU HAVE SEEN ME POST ABOUT THIS HERE ONCE SOME TIME AGO) PLEASE DON'T GIVE IT AWAY IMMEDIATELY. You can send me a PM and I will acknowledge you if you were the first to guess) This type of riddle may be unusual for this thread but I hope you will have fun on your journey to discovery :D 1. Start with a planet. 2. There is a short piece of classical music named after that planet. Listen to its second half closely. You will find a bell-like sounding melody in it, comprised of 4 notes. 3. There is a live recording of a Coldplay song in its early form in which the main riff is comprised of exactly these four notes. The riff has subsequently been modified on the studio version and does not correspond to that classical melody any more. Tell me the name of that Coldplay song.
  21. Nobody said it was easy, it's such a shame for us to fart. And I'm gonna buy a gun and start a war, if ________
  22. Haha thanks. I thought that lyric reference to Atlas would be enough :P
  23. As for his public appearances, years and years of training. He is no longer the awkward shy stammering "Hi, I'm Chris, I...play, uhm, the singing" Chris nor the "walk-out-in-the-middle-of-an-interview" Viva Era Chris. We don't see him in private, but I'm sure he will not be grinning and happy all the time.
  24. For some reason I prefer the album version (or that live version which I posted) over the Live 2003 version of that song.
