===The ultimate Oldplaying Thread===S, BS, TBR, P, AROBTTH, X&Y, VLV, PM===
Just going to put out an unpopular opinion in hopes that an oldplayer will agree with me, at least in the slightest: I think X&Y is the weakest Coldplay album not including A Head Full of Dreams. To me, the second half of the album gets a little bit bland imo. But Im not going to ignore the obviously fantastic moments on there (Square One, Talk, Speed of Sound, Fix You, Twisted Logic, etc). Its just that as a whole, you can tell it was rushed, and it kinda was when you read up on what the band say themselves. The production is a little bit muddy, even for an album from 2005. Like the band said, the album was a bit too long and the runtimes for some songs were a little long as well. There are just moments where I want the sound to really explode and, well, it just doesnt for me :/ I see X&Y as a record that had great ambitions (Space Rock influences and all), but was let down by improper production to get the job done. A L I E N S is an excellent example of what X&Y should've been. Perhaps Brian Eno should've collabed with the band much earlier... Your guys' thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

In need of someone to record guitar parts in Miracles (Someone Special) Live version!
Hello coldplayers, If you don't know, I am doing an edit project of both AHFOD and Kaleidoscope and one of the tracks is going to be a remake of the live version of Miracles 2. What will be added on to the Og version will be the guitar licks Jonny plays during the intro and outro. If anyone has an electric guitar, can recreate a good version of those guitar parts, has a decent microphone, and is interested, please let me know! :) - Lrlarchi

PM me guys! Also, to answer your question, yes iTunes accepts .WAV format. You're all good

Rank The Kaleidoscope EP Tracks
1. A L I E N S 2. All I Can Think About is You 3. Miracles (Someone Special) 4. Hypnotised 5. Something Just Like This (Tokyo Remix) (Dont judge me about the placement of 3 and 4. Hypnotised suffers from many problems relating to the production, specifically the vocals. Too many effects that cause the audio as a whole to be distorted. Plus, Jonny's guitar on Miracles 2 is great and pretty funk!)

Parachutes, A Rush, X&Y, and AHFOD are the albums with the highest quality. I personally like AHFOD bc the production sounds a lot clearer, so I suggest getting that one (I do have it myself though, so if you dont want to pay the ridiculously overpriced price, I can PM you). HDTracks.com (all of the coldplay albums are available, but only some are top quality) And yes. There's a good amount of extra detail in each of the tracks (ex. The plucking of strings on the guitars are more visible. Cymbals are clearer too). Bests website for audiophiles. Keep in mind, it can get quite expensive. It was $10.98 just for a 5 song EP.... It also comes with the album artwork in Incredible detail Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It was actually after viva I think. During the first Mylo sessions before they Eno left and the band went electronic. Brian had a sound going for the band. It wouldn't have been too different from Viva, but it could have made a smooth transition. Tracks like A L I E N S, Moving To Mars, and Major Minus all have the same type of sound that I think Eno was trying to get the band into. Its kind of sad we will never see that version of Mylo Xyloto. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Miracles (Someone Special) ft. Big Sean
What I am glad about is that its a pretty decent radio-worthy song. We've been getting generic tropical-influenced nonsense on the Hot 100 and this song in comparison is a refresher. We havent had that many "inspiring" r&b songs in a while and Im glad they brought it back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Miracles (Someone Special) ft. Big Sean
Its literally so clear. Intro and outro are strings mixed with synthesizers. You guys need to remember that this is an r&b song, not your typical "soaring anthemic" coldplay single. Its radio-friendly. You were tricked from the live version. Its a groove-based track. Note: I'll add guitars in the mix if anyone is willing to actually record them for me. The "Kaleidoscope Dreams" project I've got going on will add the guitars for you guys if I could get some guitar recordings ;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Something Just Like This (Tokyo Remix)
It was recorded live. The mic he was using was too muffled. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Loving Jonny's funky guitar licks on this! I really hope this is a hit. Its a fantastic track. Just wish Jonny still had his Guitar parts in the intro and outro like the live version... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Random Coldplay thoughts...
Im re-listening to Animals and just noticed that they used an electronic drum machine during the verses. Even that early on they were expressing an interest in the world of electronics Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

As I said, the structure of the song makes it unlikely for it to be originally from Big Sean. Its the simple intro-verse1-verse2-chorus-rapverse--chorus-outro structure seen in many songs. Adding rap verses to songs that didnt already have them is very common in music. That's the case with Lost! and Lost+. From my knowledge, the rap verse from Jay-Z came from another one of his songs. Its a possibility, but its unlikely in my pov. If Miracles 2 was the blueprint, then they must have changed so much to the point that its a new song entirely. Yes, pieces of it may have transferred over to Miracles 2, but the song wasnt originally a collab, as said by chris in the interview back in asia. Plus, Big Sean was so keen and confident about the song. I dont think he would give a song that he described as "super tight" away for it to be so modified. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well yes, they could've gotten the verse from the original Big Sean collab with Chris. But in terms of the entire song being originally from Big Sean? I dont think so. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Remember when they said they MIGHT have a collab on "Miracles 2"? Yeah, that means that Big Sean wasnt originally on it, meaning that it was the band's original song, not Big Sean's. The way the song structure is layed out, there is no way it could have been Big Sean's originally. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Why would Big Sean write a song where he is only on one verse? That's not how hip hop music works. It would usually be Chris singing the chorus and maybe one verse. An example would be his feature of Kanye West's "Homecoming". Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
