1. I'm pretty sure Oliver is just kidding. I don't think he would hate on Coldplay just for a cover LOL
2. Yep, that's what I was talking about. I'd love to hear Coldplay doing that.
3. Coldplay should do like Linkin Park and release every once in a while an EP of demos and leftovers, they are always interesting.
4. I'm aiming for the next summer to see them live for the firs time. And it would even be one of my firsts concerts :D
5. Yeah, I noticed a few minutes after posting LOL
6. I've made a setlist based on statistics from previous tours. The reasoning is below: 1. LP7 Opener 2. Paradise 3. In My Place 4. LP7 Song 5. Viva La Vida 6. LP7 Song 7. LP7 Song 8. Clocks 9. Fix You 10. LP7 Song 11. LP7 Song 12. Charlie Brown 13. LP7 Song 14. Magic 15. Midnight 16. A Sky Full Of Stars 17. Yellow 18. LP7 Song 19. LP7 Song 20. LP7 Song 21. Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall I love statistics, and I also love Coldplay. So let's be statistic about Coldplay. Considering 2008, 2012, 2013 and 2014 average setlists (thanks to setlist.fm, who gave all the info): first of all, this era seems to be CP's return to massive arenas with a big international tour, like Mylo Xyloto, so the setlist will surely be longer than the one of the Ghost Stories Tour, I'd say around 20 tracks. Considering the last three tours, they use to play at least half songs from their newer album: in the Viva Tour average setlist there are 11 songs out of 20 from VLV wich make the 55%, in the Mylo Xyloto Tour average setlist they were 9 out of 21 witch results in the 45% of the setlist, while in the Ghost Stories Tour average setlist they were 7 out of 13, wich makes about the 54%. So out of a 20 tracks set, I'd say 9 or 10 will be from A Head Full Of Dreams. They love to use their new album first track as an opener, usually followed by a well-known track: 2008 had Life In Technicolor/Violet Hill followed by Clocks, 2012 had MX/Hurts Like Heaven followed by In My Place (or Yellow in 2011), 2014 had Always In My Head followed by Charlie Brown. This is usually a good way to get the crowd fired up for the concert, especially BEFORE the album release when you are debuting a new track live. Plus, Coldplay has his "big five" tracks that they pretty much always play (especially when they have a short set), and they are the ones we've see at the iHeart Radio Festival: Paradise, Viva La Vida, Clocks, Fix You and A Sky Full Of Stars. I'd had Yellow to the group, wich is the most played live song from Parachutes. Other "must play" songs for larger sets are Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall, Charlie Brown, In My Place and The Scientist. So back to percentages, my best guess for the LP7 Tour Setlist based on their previous is this (most probable songs in parenthesis): 50% A Head Full Of Dreams - 10/21 15% Ghost Stories - 3/21 (ASFOS, Magic and True Love/Midnight/Oceans) 15% Mylo Xyloto - 3/21 (Paradise, Charlie Brown and ETIAW) 6% A Rush Of Blood To The Head - 2/21 (In My Place and Clocks) 5% Viva La Vida - 1/21 (Viva La Vida) 5% Parachutes - 1/21 (Yellow) 4% X&Y - 1/21 (Fix You) This, however, it's a setlist made just with mathematical calculations and likelihood ratios. I'm pretty sure the real setlist will be much different, since I don't think Coldplay chose their sets by numbers :D
7. It seems to be already set :D
8. Amazing Day doesn't have the "Miracle Effect" (a.k.a can't remember anything about the song) on me because of the Always In My Head-ish melody and the "Oooooh" wich still are the only part I clearly remember of the song after ten listens apart from the very first words. Guess I can't just get into it, even if I'm trying to
9. When I think of what AHFOD could be like, I think it aa mix of everything they did, including X&Y. So I'm not scrapping that idea, but... I want evidence.
10. First time listening to See You Soon, gave me chills. Amazing.
11. I don't know. Just, the song doesn't connect with me at all. I mean, I have a playlist on my PC with all my favourite songs from every record, and I never even bothered adding Clocks until I saw how many votes it taked in the AROBTH poll :D Just different music tastes, I guess.
12. Coldplay are doing a pretty terrible job at promoting this album, IF they want to promote it, anyway. Problem is, EVERYONE is stating that the album is coming this fall but NOT the band, that's acting like nothing is really happening. They didn't even talked about Amazing Day, not one word. It's weird.
13. So, my love for Coldplay started with Mylo Xyloto this summer (the MX artwork was my avatar 'till a few minutes ago), but my very first Coldplay album was Live 2012, as a Christmas gift by my parents many years ago, followed by Ghost Stories in 2014. Mylo Xyloto was my CP favourite record for a while, thanks to his uplifting sound and electropop vibes. So after MX I started to buy the other records, starting with Viva La Vida and Parachutes, then X&Y and finally AROBTH that has been actually pretty hard to find. After many listens to all the albums, I'd say that my favourite records are Viva La Vida and X&Y. Viva La Vida has a lot of international vibes, spanish and asian influences, I love it. It's experimental, it's unconventional and at the same time has that upbeat vibes that just makes my day. X&Y has this space synths that I love mixed to a pretty heavy sound; Square One has to be one of my favourite Coldplay songs. Parachutes it's good tough it's a little too soft, while A Rush Of Blood To The Head has some amazing highlights (Politik, In My Place, The Scientist, GPASUYF) Mylo Xyloto falls because of a very messy mixing (too many sounds are buried) and a pretty mediocre second part of the record. Still, I'm in love for that sound until ETIAW ends. P.S: Can someone explain to me all the love for Clocks? Sure it's a good song and everything but... I don't know, I've never seen that song as an highlight by them
14. Just found a song that perfectly represents the sound I'd want from AHFOD Kinda Viva-ish, but with the same energy of the first half of MX
15. 1. Life In Technicolor/Mylo Xyloto Mashup + Hurts Like Heaven 2. Talk 3. Always In My Head 4. Yellow 5. In My Place 6. Charlie Brown 7. Viva La Vida 8. The Scientist 9. Speed Of Sound 10. Lovers In Japan (Osaka Sun Mix) 11. Politik 12. Spies 13. Us Against The World/Oceans Mashup 14. A Sky Full Of Stars 15. Fix You 16. M.M.I.X + Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall Encore: 17. Violet Hill 18. Paradise 19. Strawberry Swing 17. Square One
16. Please please please new single this friday. Hopefully not Amazing Day, but a song with an actual new sound.
17. I've been listening to Chvrches from 2013, and it's wonderfull that they are getting the spotlight they deserve. The new album is a really good follow-up to The Bones Of What You Belive, my favorite track is Down Side Of Me.
18. I don't know what other people thinks, I don't care if it's a new sound or an old sound. I don't like Amazing Day because it's simply a bland song to me LOL.
19. I'm giving this song a few more chances, 'cause I know that a song can grow on someone after the first listen aaaand it's not happening. I can say now that it doesn't remind me so much of Ghost Stories anymore, it feels a lot more MX-esque, some sort of "Always In My Head meets Us Against The World". I don't like the lyrics (and no, they're not better than GS at all), it feels like I've already heard this song thousand times instead of just three time, and when I try to think of it "Always In My Head" still jumps on my mind. Still a 6- out of 10 to me. Generic Coldplay Anthem #43.
20. Uhm yeah, cute track but I already forgot everything about it. Not impressive at all, they did this kind of song a lot of times during their career and in a lot more remarkable ways. I hope this isn't part of AHFOD.
21. No problem with neither song or title. Just, a little to similar to AIMH. Wich is not a problem, if it isn't a song from the new album
22. Feels like a mix from the GS style and a MX-ballad-kind of song. I like it, I just hope this is the first single tough. I want something explosive.
23. CHVRCHES - Every Open Eye
24. Plus, if a new song debuts tonight, it's going to be freaking everywhere in five minutes.
