Nope, I found it quite interesting actually.

Sono qui per fare i miei complimenti a Stargate per essere riusciti a letteralmente annegare Up&Up e a trasformarla in una canzone da 6 1/2 dal 9 pieno che era il live. Quando impareranno ad autoprodursi sarà sempre, sempre, SEMPRE troppo tardi. È il secondo album che live sembra LA figata da paura e in studio risulta sufficente/carino. Se live suonano in una certa maniera un pezzo perchè diavolo non farlo suonare in quella maniera anche nella versione studio?! 1) A Head Full Of Dreams - 4- su 5 Ecco, credo che l'unica canzone ascoltata fin'ora che giovi davvero della produzione sia l'opener, che risalta molto meglio che nel live. 2) Birds - 3.5 su 5 Lo snippet mi aveva lasciato poco ma devo dire che prende molto bene con le sue atmosfere che definirei sognanti, è ottima per iniziare l'album insieme a AHFOD (concordo con chi la paragona a HLH) e per contrastare il rigetto che arriverà subito dopo con... 3) Hymn For The Weekend - 1 su 5 Questo non è saltare lo squalo. Questo è prendere lo squalo, passarci sopra più volte, ballarci insieme, varsi divorare da esso e dire anche "grazie". Questo. Il bello è che conoscendo come vanno le radio, sarà pure una hit. Prima di ascoltare sta roba ritenevo Princess Of China la loro peggior canzone, ma la sto seriamente rivalutando adesso. 4) Everglow - 4 su 5 E le mie orecchie ebbero di nuovo pace. Ballata emozionante, con una prestazione magistrale di Chris. Everglow è una delle punte di diamante dell'album, una di quelle canzoni che fra un paio d'anni probabilmente ancora ricorderemo. 5) Adventure Of A Lifetime - 3 su 5 Posizionamento strano per il primo singolo, che non ha una vera e propria transizione da Everglow ma semplicemente parte. Onestamente però non mi sento di paragonarla ad Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall, che gli è NETTAMENTE superiore. Questa è semplicemente... carina. 6) Fun - 3.5 su 5 Piacevolissima canzone pop, con una Tove Lo che ben si amalgama a Martin. Non ho acchiappato molto dal testo ma non mi sembrava per niente male nemmeno da quel punto di vista. Se avessero un briciolo di dignità sostituirebbero questa a HFTW come prossimo singolo. 7) Kaleidoscope - Transizione Obama su un sottofondo carino. Mi ha ricordato una transizione da A Thousand Suns dei Linkin Park. 8) Army Of One - 4 su 5 Bella e inaspettata. Pop fino al midollo, ma ha un beat coinvolgente e delle atmosfere solenni. In un certo senso mi ricorda Fix You, anche se è un paragone rischioso che potrebbe far salire troppo hype ad alcuni. Andateci cauti, ma secondo me questo è decisamente un highlight. 9) X Marks The Spot - 3.5 su 5 Hidden track decisamente strana, forse l'unica traccia davvero sperimentale dell'album. Per questa particolarità si merità una menzione d'onore. 10) Amazing Day - 3 su 5 Non mi piaceva live, non mi piace nemmeno ora. Sufficenza politica. 11) Colour Spectrum - Transizione Incommentabile non perchè negativa, ma perchè non c'è effettivamente nulla da commentare. 12) Up&Up - 3.5 su 5 (sigh) Ho già espresso sopra il mio disappunto su questa versione della canzone. Perchè io la ritengo proprio una diversa interpretazione di Up&Up questa, propria del duo norvegese e non dei Coldplay. Visione anche interessante della canzone eh, ma che non raggiunge PER NULLA i livelli di bellezza del live. Questa doveva essere la five star song dell'album, invece nulla. Giudizio complessivo: 7 su 10 A Head Full Of Dreams è un album assolutamente piacevole, con un punto bassissimo che è Hymn For The Weekend ma per il resto molto scorrevole e tutto sopra la sufficenza. Purtroppo manca il grande "classico", quella canzone che puoi mettere sul primo gradino della discografia insieme alle varie Yellow, In My Place, The Scientist, Fix You, Viva La Vida e compagnia. La canzone che più si avvicina a questo status è Everglow, seguita da AHFOD. Up&Up, che sembrava già esserci entrata, nell'olimpo, è così annacquata da cadere giù. E qui riprendo il discorso sugli Stargate: dando un'occhiata alla discografia di questi due ho fatto la mia conclusione, ovvero che hanno prodotto questo album come un album HIP-HOP. Non scherzo, il beat sovrasta la strumentazione in letteralmente OGNI CANZONE. Il beat! Chiaro, è una parte essenziale in una canzone, va bene, in alcune traccie è un esperimento riuscito, ma non è il modo di produrre un album che non vuole essere quello. Per quanto mi riguarda, attendo una versione completamente live di A Head Full Of Dreams per sentire come davvero i Coldplay suonano questo album. Gli Stargate possiamo congedarli, il loro danno l'hanno già fatto.

Non per spingere chi sta cercando di resistere, ma Up&Up è assolutamente la loro miglior canzone da Viva La Vida, c'è tutto quello che si potrebbe volere da una canzone dei Coldplay. Anche A Head Full Of Dreams è bella, fa molto U2. Come già detto da altri, speriamo in una buona produzione. Personalmente, ritengo che abbiano rilasciato le nuove canzoni dalla peggiore alla migliore LOL Up&Up > AHFOD > AOAL > Amazing Day Non so come sia stata ricevuta Amazing Day qui, però l'ho ritenuta davvero banale e scontata...

Their best thing since Viva La Vida, truly a masterpiece. I swear, if the production ruins the studio version I'll implode.

Quindi, ehm... sono l'unico italiano a cui è piaciuta AOAL? Non si avvicina nemmeno lontanamente alle mie aspettative, ma è decisamente un passo avanti ad Amazing Day. È orecchiabile e va bene, se il resto dell'album è solido

I'm into the song. Not their best pop song (those remains Charlie Brown and ETIAW to me), but it's good. I like the groovy atmospheres and the lyrics. Still, it lacks a little in... I don't know, "explosivity"? Gave it a 7 in the Poll

I really like the new style, the track is very powerfull. It's not their best, but it's a really good effort.
