Well the new song alone is better than a lot of GS so far... excited to hear the new single if that's the case. I actually really like GS so this single better be something at least Fix You-quality if that's the case. As for this album being good as X&Y, that'd be amazing! Your words "rockier" make it sound like we might be getting flashbacks to Oldplay :D IMO X&Y is my second fav album, and the first one is pretty similar in quality, though a lot different in vibe. Can't wait to hear this new album. :D

I'm voting for either Lost!, Rainy Day, of NMFWTTG at this point in case another explosion of votes for Viva comes. I vote Rainy Day. IMO NMFWTTG is a pretty decent song, Rainy Day isn't all that great so it's time has come.

I love those sorts of unforgettable moments you have while listening to Coldplay while driving... if your surroundings line up it can be pretty unforgettable. That must have been a such an indescribable experience for you... people are already having amazing experiences with this new song. (BTW thanks for bringing the thread back to what it's actually supposed to be about, Amazing Day. It was getting a little off topic :P)

my mp3 players being weird, have like a full playlist of 25 songs it can play but instead goes back to these songs in this exact order Christmas Lights Midnight Oceans Aiko Speed of Sound Careful where you Stand than loops back to the start. Actually this is a really nice playlist... might keeo it. It's nice. holy... just rewatched that clip and I totally get where you're coming from! It's amazing their chemistry... and it's still here. They've sure came a long way... not only was that performance magical, that part was just on a whole another level...

I do that a lot, unfortunately there's always some sort of pinpoints of light where I live. It's rare that I go out of my way to drive down a highway with next to no other pinpoints of light thats a long way from town but man does it ever pay off, I listened to Ghost Stories a few times doing that and every single time it's been something magical. Just perfect. That's why I sometimes love Ghost Stories, you can't deny that it's perfect for night driving. :D Can't wait to do it again. Exactly the same way here.... I love listening to Parachutes at that time as well. I find X&Y most enjoyable on rainy days IMO... anyone else feel this way?

I don't listen to GS a whole lot, but I was saying that most of the time when I play GS I play it at night, But it is funny that you do it too...

Liked just because of the gif :lol: Anyways, I would be sad if this closed the album since I really want it to be a pleasent surprise. But this seems like a good song to close it. In my opinion this is a great song and it would certainly deliver just like every other album closer. It's great that Coldplay does this because that's a very important part of the album, it can really affect the whole album because if it doesn't have a good ending then you'd go "That sucks it wasn't a good ending" but if it had the right ending the album would feel great as a whole since it finished off the story quite nicely. But I'd rather this not close the album than to do so because again I want it to be a surprise that I've never heard before so I get to hear the song in just the right context without any other memories attached to it. But I know that won't happen because it's very rare for the first song to be announced off an album to be the album closer. Just my input :D

Ohhh... you may have a point! Now we may know why the band gave the album such a bad title... it doesn't sound like the best title ever, but it may just be another example of possibly their sneakiest hint yet. When you dig deeper and analyze the title more carefully and compare it to past events, it makes a little more sense and has more meaning... I knew something was different when they announced the title. Huh... both of you probably have a decent point. That's usually the thing with radio stations, when it comes to "news" regarding something that is yet to happen but everyone wants to know, the year usually gets mixed up, disappointing everyone. That's a very good explanation for what happened here... there's no way they could have met Chris and have been told this information. If that was the case there would have been official word from Coldplay on it right now, but that still hasn't happened yet. More evidence to back this up was that the page was actually in a different language, so maybe the posters misunderstood something. As for the single, who knows what could have happened. I'm not sure where the claim that it'll be released sometime in October came from... maybe it was just a guess and they're reporting it as actual news.

That'd be great! It'd be a release date for both the single and the album that I'd be fine with... but they didn't really list any sources.. I wouldn't trust it myself. There was another article mentioning that the album would be released before Christmas, which does line up with this date, but that isn't reliable either since it just said that it was expected to happen. And, truthfully, it is.

You might be right... but still I don't know why he would be on the fence about playing it a day before the festival. Sure it could be written just for the festival but it might just be a song in the album themed that way... it'd be both kind of their "festival" song but also a part of the album....

I really love it too! I love it as how the songs between the albums progressively show more and more resemblance to the upcoming album... happened with Atlas, Christmas Lights, etc. This is probably an actual part of the album though... gives a hint to what the album might be like, we'll just have to wait and see.

Yeah you should give the song a try... I enjoyed it! I'm fine with Chris liking Ariana Grande etc. I'm fine if they collaborate as well... They're not the best artists in the world either. But I'm still fine with it. Of course I expect more from Coldplay but I'm not afraid to hear a collaboration...
