  10. :uhoh: what are you trying to imply buddy :o first of all; the dingo stole the baby like... 20 years ago. there ain't no dingo stealing babies around here no more. second of all; we all don't speak like steve irwin. there's no need to be worried. third of all; not everyone suffers the wrath of a backpacker murderer. only ... about 17 or so have endured that fate. okay. you win :disappointed: awwwwww :disappointed: it's the holiiiddayyysss. cut me some flack! i have not been wasting my holidays though. you would be proud to know. i have been catching up on 2 unit maths and i plannnn on catching up on extension maths this week. ohhh i'm on a rollllll! :pimp2: i've started my history extension major project (the research at least shhhh!) and i'm meeting up with le friend tomorrow to do our modern history assessment. i've been practicing my pieces for music and the only one left is legal studies... and i know i'll end up doing an all nighter for that. but but but i've been goood. seeeeeeeeeeee! and i even have motivational posters plastered ALLLLL over my walls (even my ceiling :o ) and my hsc guidelines and hsc goals and and and and yeaaaaaahh! even my desktop on my computer has inspirational quotes on it to stop me from being lazy :nice:

  17. sam's right. in australia at least it's completely different to the way colleges operate in the uk or usa or wherever. some high schools are called colleges here, such as mine. and yeah as sam said i think it's only a few of the religious high schools that are called it. uni is straight after you finish high school here, so be you 17 or 18 when you finish, that's where you go if you decide to. there are other places like TAFE which you could go to after high school. i think that would be the equivalent of an actual college in the usa or wherever. you could do a bridging course or something there, and then go to uni after as a mature age student. :idea2:
  18. :laugh1: nik's at it again isn't he :uhoh: he always wins. we can't bear to offend his rh... :disappointed: but he despises our muse

  20. aw what a lovely thread! :nice: i'd love to join. only thing is i'd be pretty useless for a couple of months because it's my final year of high school and final exams. so after that i could definitely have a bigger involvement in this. i just wanted to express my interest :) just that i won't be able to help much until a few more months. :nice:
  21. i'm picturing slip-knot wearing death eater cloaks.
  22. freedom of speech shouldn't exist in it's purest form. not that it will happen anyway. everything needs to come in moderation. too much freedom leads to radicalism and i'd hate to imagine a society where red necks, sexists, and plain idiots reigned supreme. freedom of speech is a nice concept and all. but shouldn't exist extirely. then again, it should exist to a smaller degree. ideally speaking, it shouldn't be on either extreme. if people were oppressed for their views and beliefs, that's also another extreme. we were discussing the whole david irving scenario in modern history the other day and it just seems a bit extreme to punish someone for their views. i think he's banned from even entering certain countries. heck i don't agree with what he's said but people still should be allowed some form of freedom in forming their own opinions and beliefs.
