"Cool, that's 98 days before my birthday!!!" Kind of lame to even associate the release of this album with your birthday, isn't it? :rolleyes: I'm guessing March 29th is the release date. Its supposed to be released in March, and sometime in mid or late March. Whatever. We're getting another Coldplay album on March 20th give or take 10 days. As long as the release isn't delayed, and we get to hear a single by next week, I'll be satisfied (for now). ;)

I don't know, but I hope they don't sound more and more like Echo and the Bunnymen. They seemed to be heading into that direction because people got on their case about being soft and not "rockin' out". I quite prefer Parachutes and pre-Parachutes stuff over AROBTTH, although several songs did the trick. :)

I hope they don't end up sounding like the most recent Starsailor album from last year. They went from sounding emotional to sounding very "Pop", sorta like an album full of U2's song "Stuck In A Moment...." but not as well executed. :p If the baby affected Coldplay, it will be because Chris is on a high, not a low. Maybe the new album will sound a bit like "Coldplay lite". I really hope they don't pull a Starsailor on their 3rd album, but I have a feeling that this album will be a bit of a sappy, more upbeat album, or at least moreso than on the first 2 albums. I can't really blame Chris, though. He just had a kid.

Anyone ever heard of Dave Matthews Band? They made around 4 "classic" albums before they fired producer Steve Lillywhite several years ago because they wanted to sound different, and sure enough....they did. They sounded like crap. After a first listen of "Everyday", I put the CD back into it's case and literally threw it into the trash. Later, I sold it to a used CD store for $5 and saw that I wasn't the only person who sold it within the 1st week of release. Funny thing is that later in the same year, Lillywhite went on to win a Grammy for "Producer Of The Year" for other work he did for U2. I hope their heads didn't get too big and that letting Ken Nelson go was for a reason other than, "We thought we could do it better ourselves." He makes Coldplay sound like Coldplay. Without him, it's still Coldplay, but the way they're presented on the studio album will be different. :(

Yeah, seriously. Coldplay, especially Chris, seems to be falling apart morally. I always held them high up on the list of people who wouldn't pull power-trips like this and be considerate and kind to everyone as if everyone were on equal footing, but nope. And Chris kicking reporters and doing something like this makes him seem like such an arse.

Who do they sound like?

There are several bands that could have justifiably won it, and Franz wasn't one of them. The Streets should have won it. His concept album was absolute toppers. You had to listen to it from beginning to end to really "get it," but its definitely the most original. Skinner got robbed in 2002, and he got robbed again. Belle and Sebastian.....finally get respect by making (arguably) their best album. They were widely respected already, and after making their best album, you'd figure that a respected band with their best release would win. Same can be said about Snow Patrol. They finally come out with an album that's a bit ballsier than their other softy albums. They were always respected anyway, but it would have been good if the panel awarded a class band with an award for releasing their best album. Keane can kiss my a**. Haha, yeah, you're pretty pleased that the 5 bands that only 95% of people thought would win. Its almost like you're psychic!

The lyrics for Green Eyes have been taken sexually before: "I came here with a load and it feels so much lighter since I met you" Some wonder what he meant by load. I know its not what he meant, but it.....kinda....makes sense...... *runs away*

I've seen the book at an HMV in Melbourne. I've seen these documentary type audio CD's in London before as well. They had one for Dave Matthews, which is odd since he's not even popular there.

Thanks. I've been looking for it like mad. I can't imagine Chris singing the chorus as good as the guy who's doing it now (and no, it's not Skinner singing the chorus like most people think...). But heck, if there was an mp3 of Chris singing in the shower, I'd probably want it, so...... send it to me, pwetty pwease. :wink3:

Any Coldplay song where they try to "rock out" is an utter disaster. :P -One I Love -Moses -1.36 And after going through my iTunes list, here are some more that sound annoying to me. Either a bit too Travis and Starsailor (but only their new album), or even more annoying and pop than that: -Ladder To The Sun -Crest of Waves -Murder -Marianne -Lost Highway (if you guys are including that one) -No More Keeping My Feet On The Ground Notice how I DID NOT include Proof and I Bloom Blaum. I didn't think I Bloom Blaum is that bad, and Proof would be good if the rest of the band was in it. It has potential.

Poor Me was average Moses is bad and I've only heard two versions of Your World Turned Upside Down.....one was at the Toronto concert where I heard it live, but I can't remember the song at all and don't know what I thought of it (I usually have to hear a song at least 2 times to form any opinion), and the other was a dodgy-quality mp3 that I deleted. :( I hope they don't include any of these tracks.

Sparks is one of my favourite Coldplay songs, so I'll have to leave it untainted in my memory by not listening to the lines butchered by Brandy's voice.

@BUSYBEEBURNS: What if I told you that someone gave me the Toronto concert in perfect quality. And I don't mean in great quality. I'm talking about the type of high quality that you heard only on the radio and NOT the Edge webcast, the type that requires someone to hook up a recorder to Chris' mic directly. I have it, but with 4 songs missing: GPASUYF, Your World Turned Upside Down, Moses, and Everything's not Lost. They're missing, but we can get those in "webcast quality". The rest of the concert is spot on, and I'm sure they're as good as you can get them. Its like purchasing an officially released live album or something. Its great. :D Anyway, do you want it instead of your copy? If so, then how do you want me to give it to you? PS: They're encoded as 192kbps mp3's.

Wow, thanks. :D I have the concert as well, but I didn't get the first song (Politik), Trouble, Yellow, or Clocks because it (the signal) must have cut off for me while recording, and so the program automatically stopped recording the concert without me knowing it. Must be the buffer or something. :( :? If you can, can you record it so that the sound quality is NOT variable? I have mp3's of Politik and several others, but they're not at 128kbps, 160kbps, etc. It jumps up and down, and I believe I can't burn those on CD's. If I can, then great, but I don't think so. :cry: If you need it, or if this website needs it, I'll get it to you somehow.

Okay, never mind. That ftp site keeps letting me in, but doesn't let me download. I got 5 songs, all good quality. I'd rather not have any of them than have 5. :(
