  1. It's a cult of personality. Obama won't do anything differently from Bush. Singapore and New Zealand are on my radar. I'm a recent college grad and I don't intend to pay taxes in America, or allow myself to be a candidate for the draft. You can only steal from future generations for so long before they decide to leave.
  2. That guy Max Keiser drove me nuts, and not in the good way.
  3. Aww, I think it was sweet. There are far more useless threads in here...
  4. Saffire replied to zeoir's topic in The Lounge
Speaking of that, I was thinking a lot about niggers the other day... they're a pretty funny crew.
  5. Actually I was thinking the opposite... they all seem female to me! ;)
  6. More good shots of Chris Evans, who'll be starring in the new action movie called "Push".
  7. Europeans need to quit putting up with this crap. You guys take it laying down way too much... I mean look at how fast the EU got off the ground! That idea should have been laughed out of existence the second it popped up. You remember the "Just say No!" campaign against drugs here in America? Maybe we should adopt a Just say No campaign against government.
  8. In a similar way, I write to all my friends using calligraphy on parchment... I have a deep fear of rejection!
  9. Exactly. And because sometimes people don't want to get into deep conversations, and they'd rather just give short answers.
  10. Back when I was living in the dorms, I was out with a group of guys playing volleyball in the field next door, and we were barefoot because there was sand on the ground. One of the guys stepped on a pin and shrieked out in pain. We pulled it out of his foot, and it was a button someone had left out in the sand that said, "Never Forget" and a picture of the Twin Towers. That poor guy will never forget.
  11. I'm not sure how the prison system is over there, but he might get his own room since he's famous and everybody knows he's gay. I bet his lawyer will make sure that happens!
  12. Hrmph. Well I find you both exceedingly lazy for not taking the time and effort to type out your thoughts. Instead you just dial a number and blab! Kids these days.
  13. Whoa, amazing. I almost feel sorry for the Asians who got suckered into buying our debt. I bet they won't make that mistake twice! P.S.: Nick, let's start a business together one day. We're both smart and sexy.
  14. Slavery is terribly corrupting, it even corrupts the enslaved (because they begin to believe they are inferior to their masters, and they forget their rights). Jefferson said this, also, which I think alludes to the fact that we're all slaves: "It is strangely absurd to suppose that a million of human beings, collected together, are not under the same moral laws which bind each of them separately." So in the same way that the government is a collection of individuals, slave owners are a separate class (a special interest group, if you will). And then we can extrapolate these things to that awesome government invention, the corporation! Oh gosh it's so late.
  15. Go Murray and Roddick!
  16. Santa Claus 2024! Lincoln established the Federal government as the central arbiter of power, and made the office of the presidency akin to a monarch. The purpose of the Civil War wasn't to end slavery, as we are taught in state-schools, but to keep the State intact. Any state's primary motive is survival. That's why slavery was allowed for so long in the first place - as a compromise to appease the civilian population. It wouldn't have been possible if it hadn't been for the government's support, like returning escaped slaves to their masters and keeping slaves from owning businesses.
  17. Nah, it'll last a while. Look how long FDR's honeymoon lasted/continues to last.
  18. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1115942/Bush-declares-state-emergency-cost-Obamas-swearing-ceremony-soars-110m.html To $160 million! Gosh, it's almost like they're printing money up there. ;) EDIT: It's interesting he'll be using Lincoln's bible to swear-in on, because Lincoln is responsible for more American deaths than... well... just about anyone in history!
  19. Lately I've been a texting fiend, sending probably 8 or more a day. Mostly I just do it to avoid getting stuck in long drawn-out conversations, or to flirt. But it can get addicting.
  20. http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/article2128530.ece Is this supposed to be funny? I know it's the Sun, but come on... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northstar That's the first, anyway. So from now on, whenever the Sun publishes something idiotic, post it in here! We could have another thread for the Daily Mail, also.
  21. A Nintendo forum run by some Canadian kid. This was back before Gamecube was launched and they called it "project dolphin". I was called Saffire there, too, and I got the name from a third-party game developer.
  22. http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/january2007/050107peanutskill.htm Peanuts kill more Americans than terrorists. The easiest (and most accurate) way to view the world is using logic and statistics. That's what governments don't want you to do, because it suddenly makes them look obsolete. The Gaza thing is a sideshow to keep Hamas in power and the US supporting Israel financially.
  23. Chuck, you make a good point. The fact that people are killing in army costumes doesn't make it any different. Our government subsidizes Israel's military. If you subsidize something, you get more of it (whatever it happens to be - that's an iron law of economics). Imagine if Israel had to pay for its own way. The local taxes would be higher and there would be more political opposition.
  24. It's ridiculous how much mobile phone companies charge or text messages. They're literally just a few kilobits in size. I probably "send" 40,000 text messages' worth of data just browsing this forum for 10 minutes.
  25. No, I just think he should quit shaving and get into a bar fight. :laugh3:
