  1. Wentworth Miller There are rumors he's gay, and I think I believe them... he's just too good-looking to be straight. :P
  2. When it comes to currencies, the bigger they are, the harder they fall. So Britain keeping the Pound is probably not such a bad thing! But I agree about driving on the right side of the road. Just as I think American should adopt the metric system.
  3. Why do you guys dislike Nadal so much? :laugh3: Sure he's ugly as sin, but let the guy win a few tournaments for God's sake!
  4. Give it back!
  5. LMAO Oh Tnspieler1012, you have made my day. :D
  6. A couple more interesting updates: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0109/18024.html Boehner tells his GOP House members to vote against the stimulus bill. Remember the Democrats have to get bipartisan support for their bill so that when it fails to revive the economy, they can say Republicans had just as much to do with it. http://businessandmedia.org/articles/2009/20090127165919.aspx Mr. DeMint says Republicans wish they hadn't voted for that dang bailout. Even after they usurped the overwhelming will of the people by doing so. If only they could use that phrase "hindsight is 20/20", because then we might be able to find some sympathy for them... but we knew all along how that bill was going to turn out, and how the money would be spent.
  7. Nick, here's a vid I was just watching, you might enjoy it: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mKE16Exh9k]YouTube - Obama's So-Called Stimulus: Good For Government, Bad For the Economy[/ame]
  8. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/01/27/obama-officials-tells-cit_n_161202.html Oh, Obama! *swoon*
  9. Here's a really interesting article talking about what type of personality attempts to become a politician. Remember they have a tendency to have a grandiose view of themselves (because they think they have the answer to all of society's problems), they consistently lie, they crave power over others, etc. This is really appropriate now, given the adoration of Obama and the obviously mentally-deranged Governor of Illinois. http://www.strike-the-root.com/91/groves/groves1.html
  10. I'm sorry to hear that, Nick. My brother used to do that also, but thankfully he's over it.
  11. This is why marijuana should be legalized.
  12. Seeing Roddick beat Federer would be so satisfying. And I'd like him to do it using brute force, with lots of aces. Take that, you ballerina! ;)
  13. He dropped out due to the heat. Roddick was still going strong till the end, and he says his conditioning helped him. I don't know why the idiots in Australia didn't close the roof on the stadium. Roddick made several really impressive plays in this match, so it should be cool to see how he does against Federer (assuming he wins against that young dude Del Toro or whatever his name is). I think this new coach really helped Roddick's game. The next match he's in will be at nighttime, so heat won't be an issue.
  14. Roddick is wiping the floor with this guy... what's his name again? Oh yeah, Djokovic. :D Apparently Serbs can't take very hot weather.
  15. I confess I've never read ANY of the Harry Potter books. I got halfway through the first one, but I just couldn't continue. I confess that if given a choice between wealth and power, I'd choose wealth.
  16. If you push a bureaucrat out of a window, it takes him a week to hit the ground.
  17. ApproximatelyInfinite, here's the problem with your thesis: You say Americans are spoiled and selfish, yet we just elected a guy who's campaign platform was to help out the poor and save the Earth from global warming. Do you see the contradiction? Americans (and all humans) are willing to give their money to good causes, but the problem is they don't trust their fellow man to do the same thing! So, they feel there's a necessity for government (which to them is a charity with a gun, but they will deny the gun exists until they're blue in the face).
  18. I listened to that vid, Nick, and it was really interesting. Although I don't like Geithner, I think he's just saying what everybody already knows deep down. China manipulates their currency, sure, but why is that a bad thing? They've got just as much right to do that as our government has to manipulate interest rates and create inflation. I agree with Max Keiser that this is like the prisoner complaining to the warden about his living conditions. Tough luck, America.
  19. Zemy101, I kind of come off as a jackass on this forum sometimes, but the best way I can explain it is this analogy: Atheists are to God as I am to Government! Plus it's fun to be excruciatingly cynical about someone 90% of people adore. ;)
  20. Call me paranoid, but I kind of wonder about the timing of this story... do you think it's possible this is being set up as an excuse for Obama to use later down the road to completely nationalize the banks? Anybody who studies PR understands the public's perception of executives and the French are both horrible.
  21. Normal, healthy food. No supplements. Mostly I make big casseroles and eat the leftovers late at night, and I make sure to eat a lot of snacks. I confess I stayed up till 4:30AM a couple nights ago watching tennis and surfing the internet.
  22. http://apnews.myway.com/article/20090126/D95UPOM80.html This is interesting. It seems Bush helped out Obama in his last days in office by implementing a new rule that says you can't arrest illegal fugitives without high-level approval. This will keep the pressure off Obama's aunt, who is clearly an illegal immigrant. The sight of her being deported in handcuffs would certainly be bad PR for Mr. Hope.
  23. lol he "hates to say it". Biden secretly gets giddy over the idea of war, because it makes him seem necessary to the safety of average Americans. It's the same strange complex Bush had - "Now that I'm a wartime president, everyone will view me as their protector!" Terrorists are like the adult version of the boogie monsters children get scared are living under their beds.
