What are your thoughts on nationalism?
There's nothing wrong with people working and living together. The problem comes when you force people to do things they don't want to do. Politicians intentionally confuse these two so they can gain more power. They talk about how "we" should do "work together" to "achieve great things". But they conveniently ignore the fact that it's not voluntary - some people are being taxed to pay for something they don't agree with.

Concerning the US elections 2012:
You and me both, sister. I'm voting for Bachmann in hopes she turns me straight.

THIS MAN SHOULD BE LOCKED UP
It's fine if he's fired or if the show is never aired. I've got no problem with social ostracism as a means of directing behavior.

What are your thoughts on nationalism?
Darlene, I think all big governments are unsustainable, like the EU, China, Russia, and the USA. In the future, I think smaller governments will be more successful - Monaco, Denmark, Luxembourg, Switzerland... Humans aren't meant to be in such huge tribes of 100's of millions.

THIS MAN SHOULD BE LOCKED UP
Soap operas, Lamb Chop's Playalong, episodes of Wishbone, and I'm sure many others. You and Reilly are trying to create outrage over something that's not a big deal.

What are your thoughts on nationalism?
Careful! Taxes do not create a new system of ethics. If a country can tax people who want to independent, then it can tax anyone - even the Chinese. Different groups of people have a right to live together and form their own government, even if it means the old government loses tax money. And don't ignore history just because it was a long time ago. Remember: today is history for people living in the future. Things can change very fast. Peace won't last forever. EDIT: This is particularly important to remember when thinking about the EU. The EU cannot last. Europe wasn't meant to be under one government.

THIS MAN SHOULD BE LOCKED UP
Because there are many other TV shows and media featuring women getting close to children who aren't theirs, kissing them, etc. and there isn't any outrage about it. Nice try, though.

What are your thoughts on nationalism?
This isn't nationalism, it's secessionist, which is a good thing. There's nothing wrong with a group of people wanting to govern themselves, or be independent. That's the opposite of nationalism.

THIS MAN SHOULD BE LOCKED UP
Oh Reilly, you've shamed me! How can I ever show my face in public again! After all, I'm supporting sexual deviants and attacks on sweet, innocent children! Give me a break. Okay. What do you think should be done with him? Be specific. Also, explain how you would enforce your punishment. What if he refuses to obey? Will you shoot him?

Concerning the US elections 2012:
Michelle Bachmann is a former IRS attorney. That alone puts her on the same level as rapists and baby seal clubbers. But I think the Republican party has already picked their winner - Mitt Romney. He basically agrees with everything Bush and Obama have been doing for the last decade. Expand the size of the military, and then everything else is just blah blah blah. The only person running for president here who's any different is Ron Paul.

What have you learned today?
Alcohol and sleeping pills are both 'depressants', which means they slow down your bodily functions. Mixing two or more depressants is a very dangerous thing - it can stop your heart. So sometimes when people try to commit suicide, they take a bunch of pain pills with a full bottle of wine.

What have you learned today?
Yes, I have a friend in Denmark and I am going to visit him and his family later this Summer! From what I know about that country, I love its culture and people.

THIS MAN SHOULD BE LOCKED UP
I advocate voluntary human interaction and non-escalation of force. I'm saying that cultural norms vary, and what one person considers "creepy" might not be so to other people. You seem to be suggesting that as a society, we should particularly fear men hanging around children alone because women are less likely to hurt them. This is completely biased and unbacked by any scientific evidence. Ever hear of SIDS? A lot of those cases were women killing their own children. There are many scientific studies on this, which I can link you to if you're interested. You need to get off your high horse and quit painting a whole group of the population (men) as creepy child molesters. This is hidebound thinking that tears at the fabric of a society. EDIT: What usually happens to the women who get caught having sex with an underage boy? Usually nothing more severe than a slap on the wrist, when it's for a crime that would net a man decades in jail and permanent entry on a sex offenders list.

love at what age?
Yeah I think it's possible to fall in love as young as 13 or so, but at a certain point people confuse lust with love (even many adults). I also think it's possible to love more than one person at a time...but that's another thread right there.

THIS MAN SHOULD BE LOCKED UP
I sense some sarcasm, so here's a story from just yesterday: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/2011/06/16/2011-06-16_molly_jane_roe_raped_killed_boyfriends_17monthold_baby_girl_maleeya_marie_murley.html Woman rapes and murders a baby. Listen, I don't care what you or anyone else thinks is "creepy". There was no physical or mental damage done to these children in the video. And just because you'd like to go around profiling men, based on police reports (rather than scientific data), doesn't mean men actually commit more sexual assaults than women do. Often young boys are made to feel shame for experiencing a sexual assault by a woman, or even worse, that it's something of a trophy to celebrate entry into manhood. Different cultures have different habits and norms of acceptable interactions. But we should all agree to draw the line at nonvoluntary forced interactions. And calling for an escalation of force against someone who didn't use force to begin with is pretty asinine.
-
THIS MAN SHOULD BE LOCKED UP
Let me just also point out that while the guy in the video is creepy (by our cultural standards) those children were probably not traumatized in any way by his little pecks on their lips. The punishment for any crime should be commensurate with its severity, and in this case I think it's safe to say your calls that he "die in immense pain" and be "locked up" are ridiculously over the top and you people are the ones who should be ashamed of yourselves.

THIS MAN SHOULD BE LOCKED UP
That's only because they're prosecuted more often. But there's no evidence I'm aware of that shows women aren't also capable of sexual offenses against young boys and girls, in fact I've seen several news stories recently about women horribly raping both genders.

Bag Raiders
Not sure if a thread was already started for them, but they're an awesome House duo from Australia. HOW TO GET TO HEAVEN WHEN YOU DIE
Chuck, you keep deliberately confusing voluntary interactions with coerced interactions. Communism and socialism (and all forms of government) are coerced. Capitalism (anarchy) is voluntary.

What are your thoughts on nationalism?
Excellent answer. You can only be legitimately proud of something you do yourself! Nationalism is mass Stockholm Syndrome. You are forced to pay into a collective against your will, and it's your brain's effort to square this unfortunate truth (that you are a slave) with a happy ideal (that it's voluntary and you are glad for it). SEIG HEIL!

THIS MAN SHOULD BE LOCKED UP
Let's face it: If he were a woman of equal age, you people would think it was perfectly fine. Why the double standard?

Facebook juror sentenced to eight months for contempt
I can't wait to have jury duty and then nullify whatever law it is they're using to prosecute the case. Actually I would love to get elected as solicitor for a county here so I can throw out every drug-related charge the police send to my desk.

Britain Poised For Cuts (and other economic goings on)
Why don't they just raise the taxes on the rich? I thought that solved everything. Or they could print the money they need.
