  1. Women don't do much for me, and I'm a guy. So closer to the very side.
  2. Well ideally as fewer and fewer people vote, the government will be considered just this idiotic side-show that's run by a bunch of busybody losers who are trying to control everybody else. But voting hasn't really helped anything, while nonviolent resistance has. So the latter is a more effective strategy.
  3. Your odds of being killed by a police officer are 8X greater than being killed by a terrorist. And funny how stuff like this happens right before a major US election. I smell bullshit.
  4. I've worked at more than one restaurant in the past, and after 3 or 4 weeks on the job I get sick of the food and can't eat it anymore. Even just smelling it all the time gets old and makes your hunger go away. So this guy definitely had a love for McDonalds beyond what the average person could handle. Also, McDonalds corporation is incredibly focused on making sure all their food tastes exactly the same regardless of where it is. They've turned food into a mass-manufacturing industrial process like Ford did with cars. So there's hardly a need for someone to be running around "taste testing" all the food.
  5. Of course Nick is looking forward to freezing his ass off in Iceland, he's from Florida. I'm not a huge fan of cold, so I'd have one of those outdoor space heaters.
  6. I would travel and hang out with all the peeps I know via the internet. Only thing holding me back is money, and job. Money is scarce and job makes time scarce. Nick, I would visit your ranch in Iceland. I'm totally up for riding a horse under the aurora. Maybe we can take over the government, too, since nobody likes it and we'd be pretty charismatic.

"What part of our babies' bodies will we chop off today!?" I feel like I'm in Afghanistan.

Patting dogs on the head for not biting you. Maybe so. American "culture" is rife with runoff from 2000 year old fairy tales. One thing that bothers me about the circumcision "debate" is attitude surrounding the discussion. It's very "har har" because for some odd reason we're conditioned to maintain a 6 year old's attitude to male anatomy, while any discussion of female anatomy is held to a standard far higher. Maybe I'm just noticing the "pussy on the pedestal" syndrome.

Most people (including herself) may believe it's her choice. My only point is that it's not. It never was. Never will be. Just like if a slave owner frees his slaves and then expects lavish praise for it - they were never really "his" to begin with. You can't own another person. Humanity makes progress only when it acknowledges this basic fact. So be careful not to use the language of the barbarians! Oh your poor friend! What trauma! I think women should have their vaginas fused shut with a laser and their nipples frozen off. More clean that way.

As valiant and wonderful as you make it sound, it was never really your decision to begin with.
  11. Economics is a rather complex thing to explain to the layperson but I will attempt to elucidate it here. Try to forget about "money" for a second. Keep in mind that money is only a symbol for value. Value is entirely subjective. So what is valuable for you, might not be valuable for me. Etc. Now consider the way an economy works - via trade. Employers trade with their employees, and shops trade with their customers. They are trading value. The key difference between a government and a business is that a government obtains its money not by offering value, but by taxing (theft). Normally the way a business works is this: 1. Business offers you a good/service. 2. You analyze the offer, look at the business's reputation, and consider if the offer is worth it to you. 3. If it's worth it for you, you make the trade with the business. Government doesn't work this way. Government works like this: 1. Government steals a % of your paycheck (with the threat of jail if you don't comply). 2. Via an opaque voting mechanism (which doesn't take into account each individuals' relative value judgments and concerns), government agents attempt to determine how to best maintain their power/wealth without angering a majority of the voters. 3. The policy is implemented while leaving an "exit strategy" so if it is a failure, there's a way to blame it on an enemy who is out-of-power. So by paring the size of government, you free up capital (value) to be allocated voluntarily by individuals as they see fit. This creates more-accurate price signals, which increases the likelihood businesses will be making and doing the things people want. All of this increases the quality of life for everyone, but particularly those who don't work for the government. The economy is only a signal-system. It is a far more accurate signal-system than the voting-stealing system is, at least when it comes to determining the best way to allocate resources.
  12. "Let me tell you about post World War 2 Sweden's economy..."
  13. Multiculturalism is a meaningless term without a way to measure it. What exactly does it entail? The government should have specific goals: increase German-speaking immigrants by a certain % in a certain time frame. etc. But Merkel is really late to the game on this one. She's saying what everyone knew years ago.
  14. The British should be cooperative. They should continue paying their taxes, like good little citizens. They should accept cuts in services, because it is the right thing to do. They should work harder, for the state, because it is good for them - breaking your back builds ethic. Accept that you are servants to the political class. Do not make this difficult.

    Circumcision is genital mutilation.
  16. How DARE he speak poorly of our Lord and King! You are BANISHED HENCEFORTH FROM THE LAND.
  17. What you just said is devoid of specificity or real analysis. "A great deal of good for Russia" - be specific. What? "He runs the country in a way the west doesn't like" - how is Russia managed differently from the western socialist republics? They look quite similar to me.
  18. And people make fun of libertarians for bringing up "slippery slope" arguments xD
  19. Yes, because a politician's popularity directly correlates to their positive effect on the country.
  20. Putin is a major embarrassment for Russia. He's like "Dear Leader" over there in North Korea. Come on guys, this isn't the 1940's anymore.
  21. Bingo. But we can't let little people have money! We have to protect the rich bankers and politicians.
  22. To serve and protect! (Without them, society would collapse!)
