Oprah has sort of a cult-following here in America. Stay-at-home wives watch her daytime talk show, and she will introduce a product or personality she likes... and everybody will go out and buy that product. That's why it's every author's dream to get selected for Oprah's "book list", because she can turn them from a pauper into a millionaire overnight just by mentioning the book on her show.

My mom was in London the day they announced it won the right to host the Olympics, and this huge military jet flew overhead and dropped red confetti and made a loud sonic-boom. She thought it had crashed and the confetti looked like smoke. The very next day she went for coffee in London and heard people running and screaming - when the terrorist had bombed the bus. If she had not gone for coffee, she might have been on that very bus.

I'm thrilled for Rio! South America will finally get to show off its great culture and scenery.

I don't care much for dogs, but this is cruelty toward a living creature and he should be thoroughly embarrassed for his behavior. I'd hate to be around this man when he's in one of his moods.

How much longer till we can stop blaming this on Bush? Remember that Bush and Obama had the same policy for fixing the problem - Obama voted for the stimulus as a member of the Senate, and Bush signed it into law.

Ouch! Yeah, that's something you'd remember. :laugh3: I just realized I have another memory from when i was really young - I was probably 4 or 5 and my mom was taking me to the mall with her, and we were in the parking lot, just after we got out of her little blue BMW. And it was summer and really hot, and I remember the entrance to the mall looked like a massive temple, so high. Now whenever I go to that same mall, the entrance seems very average. And then I remember when I was about 5 or 6, I was tossing a rock up in the air as high as I could, just to see how high I could get it. And it came back down a crashed through the back windshield of that same little BMW, lol. This was right before my family was about to go on a vacation at the beach... I forgot what we ended up doing, or if we went or not. But I didn't get in much trouble for that, believe it or not.

Well it's due to lazy parents who plop their kids down in front of a television rather than actually spending time with them. And Barack Obama, who wants to increase the length of the school day and shorten summer. People naturally enjoy physical activity (look at the popularity of the Wii) and they enjoy having a healthy diet, but the incentives to be lazy outnumber the incentives to be active. And then people cry when runway models are skinnier than they are, and demand the government put an end to it. *whipcrack*
