  1. There's nothing wrong with combining an investment bank with a commercial bank, so I wish they wouldn't criticize repealing that particular law. Read this: (From Wikipedia) Anyway, the point is we should consider repealing the Federal Reserve Act instead. It's funny how in order to sustain a massive breach of freedom, you have to create a dozen smaller breaches of freedom here and there.
  2. His comments don't appear any more or less rational than the comments of most politicians.
  3. Of all the ways humans affect the environment, global warming is honestly the least of my worries. My greatest environmental concern right now is over-fishing. Because this is really going to affect human diets over the next 100 years.
  4. The hilarious thing about "global warming" is the language used to scare people. If you do a search on Google for "global warming faster than expected" you come up with 142,000 news stories about how scientists have just discovered their data sets were wrong! It's all happening so quickly! You have stories about "faster than expected" global warming going back all the way to 1998. Then it gets faster, then faster, then faster. Come on. You can only scare people so much before it becomes "the boy who cried wolf".
  5. If I want to dress like Ronald McDonald when I go to class, then let me. She has just has a bad case of "balloon boy". It's precisely the act of setting up silly rules that allows people to end up feeling like martyrs. Think of it as a form of exhibitionism.
  6. Why do people make such a big deal of this crap? It's the Jesus-syndrome. These people are looking for attention, and the way they get it is by pretending they're oh-so-righteous victims of societal discrimination. Just ignore religion and it'll go away.
  7. http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/economics/article6887467.ece lol, ignore the man behind the curtain! We're in a recovery, remember?
  8. Oh come now, you've never heard of John Locke?? ;)
  9. We are SO past due on a kickass Atlas Shrugged movie.
  10. lol, sometimes I wonder if Hannity and Olbermann could do a full 180 on their political views if their chosen parties (Republican and Democrat respectively) did the same. For instance, if the Democrats slowly transitioned into the Republican party over the next year, and the Republicans slowly transitioned into Democrats... would Hannity or Olbermann notice? Probably not. They'd still do their shows, hating each other, and parroting their political party leadership, not even noticing the change that occurred right under their noses. This is because the parties are virtually identical for all intents and purposes. It's really weird how homogenous American politics is now. Most of it relies on innuendo and fear-mongering: Democrats claim Republicans are war-freaks (they are, but so are the Democrats). Republicans claim Democrats are socialists (they are, but so are the Republicans). And now the FCC (a blatantly unconstitutional agency that has never really been challenged) is going to regulate the internet: http://www.reuters.com/article/regulatoryNewsConsumerGoodsAndRetail/idUSN2237873320091022 This is because of all the naive geeks who learned about St. Abraham Lincoln and Pope Roosevelt in public school. It makes perfect sense to protect us from the evil ISPs! I swear to Jesus H. Science, sometimes I know how Goethe would feel if he were trapped in an elevator with Paris Hilton.
  11. I love how you guys already killed all the Libertarians there in England. You get to choose between Fascists or Socialists. :laugh3:
  12. http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local-beat/Officers-Who-Struck-Killed-Child-Gets-1-Day-Suspension-52187867.html A one day suspension.
  13. Hay guise, we got hundreds of millions lying around that we took from y'all to educate yer chindrin. We coo?
  14. Uhh... I hope that was a typo about his mother's age. Because if she's 27 and he's 20 then something happened which I don't think is physically possible... or if it is, I don't want to know how. There was a guy in one of my economics courses named Peter Griffin. He got a little bit of giggles on the first day but after that people didn't think twice about it...
  15. "Maybe if I eat CHOCOLATE ice cream instead of vanilla, I'll lose weight!" Fascism is just a different flavor of the same thing.
  16. The non-aggression principle doesn't apply to women, Nick. Little-known-fact.
  17. Has he ever done anything violent toward the children? Sure he's put them in unsafe situations, but he's there with them (as a storm chaser). Sure he's got strange beliefs (but Christians believe in a Jewish Zombie, so whatever). I don't see why this guy should have his kids taken away from him by "society".
  18. Ohh talented rich guys are soooo hot! Just kidding, I'm still attracted to underwear models.
  19. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zpmqy9tC4uI]YouTube - Is Limited Government an Oxymoron?[/ame] This is a fantastic interview of these two very intelligent anarchists. One is an economist, the other is a wealthy investor.

  21. Oh wow, that's great. I really respect them for having the guts to move to a new place... most Americans consider moving to a new state to be a huge life-changer. If more people would leave their home-countries, maybe governments couldn't be so tyrannical.
  22. No there's not, but gay people are documented to have higher satisfaction in their relationships (and longer relationships) than straight people: http://www.psychologytoday.com/articles/200612/queer-iq-the-gay-couples-advantage So the stereotype is the opposite of reality.
  23. lol your signature seems to indicate you masturbate to thoughts of a big bank account.
