  1. Yes, a discussion topic from the daily mail, a NEWS source, about Bush, and Iran, and nukes, NEWS TOPICS. Something I'm happy to discuss in the NEWS SECTION. In the lounge however, I would prefer not to discuss these things, because I go there to relax, and trigger words like Bush, nukes, and Iran make me tense up and sometimes even grind my teeth in subconscious frustration. p.s. I hate the daily mail's writing style in general... there's something about the way they put things that makes the ADD kick in around the second or third paragraph... and for the record there are many papers with the opposite effect- I get sucked in.
  2. Uh... he was pretty skinny the last time I checked... where have you been for the last 2 years? Something about losing 70 pounds on a yogurt diet while filming King Kong? Still as hairy as ever, though... As for the topic...kind of a weird (mean) reason to keep someone out of the country... but I've heard a lot lately about doctors who are saying that fat people shouldn't have access to free healthcare even here in Canada, so... I guess I'm not surprised, but I am sad.
  3. Actually, if you look at the pictures, it's just a projector bouncing the picture off a fancy piece of glass or plastic. Been around for years. :dozey: Personally, I'd rather just aim it at the wall for a super big screen.
  4. This thread is sort of like a watch with a dead battery- still right twice a day. Or once a year, in this case. Drat... it's too soon to be almost December- I have too much to get done first- and no way to get started yet. *sigh*
  5. Ooh- it's your birthday? Happy Birthday Ian !!! :crown:
  6. ^thanks for the list, it's added. No, Sawdust does not count. And unfortunatly, neither does Hvarf/Heim as it is mainly live material and isn't really considered a proper studio album. Although I will grant you the new stuff is amazing... would be near the top of my list too if it was allowed. ;)
  7. Yep. And since they haven't been released, I think it should count. Thanks, I already added your list the first time you posted it one page back. That first one is the one you should edit if you want to make any changes because I might miss later things when tallying them up.
  8. Ok, looking around, it looks like it was actually given it's official launch in May of 2006 according to their official site! :stunned: http://clumsy.info/pages/felttip_bio.html And it wasn't a tiny unnoticed thing either: http://www.bbc.co.uk/somerset/content/articles/2006/08/10/tijuana_glastonbury_290706_feature.shtml about a July 2006 concert: " Third up were Clumsy from Bristol, hot off the release of Felt Tip Philosophies, their first album." A review from Nov 2006: http://www.epigram.org.uk/view.php?id=1083 Sorry dude, looks like it can't count. Whatever came out in 2007 must have been a reissue of some sort. If you find different evidence, you're welcome to let me know and I'll take a look. Know the feeling, I'm dying to put Scott Matthews on the list, but it came out in December 06.
  9. ^Um... go by the first official release date? If it was only sent out to fans it's not exactly an official commercial release like say 'In Rainbows' where although unusual, anyone could still pay for an official copy. I'll look it up...
  10. Yeah, I remember that bit. He DID NOT actually say he was talking about 'What If' there, it was just edited to make it look like he was talking about 'What If'. I think he was actually refering to 'Green Eyes' there, but of course he was also being silly, so who knows if he actually meant it...
  11. Just saw Arcade Fire on Austin City Limits. Hands STILL shaking. WOW. Win accidentally started a mosh pit. Never seen a mosh pit on that show before. :stunned:
  12. Thanks for the info... I didn't even know the titles, just the existence. No, b-side collections don't belong on the list, nor do things originally released in 2006.
  13. Behind the scenes! http://adam-buxton.co.uk/ad/
  14. That a threat? :P
  15. Space Cadet replied to MrMagpie's topic in The Lounge
Uh... I still play with lego :uhoh: Well I am an aunt... we need toys around for the kids...
  16. I've always thought that it was a collection of anxieties about all sorts of differnt people... family, friends, fans... anyone who means something. That's the great thing about songs and poetry... it can sort of morph ideas together into something bigger than it would be if it was just about one person or thing.
  17. Demonoid was somehow blocked to Canada a while ago... surprised it took this long for everyone else to go after them as well... *edit* Ah, ok, it was the CRIA AGAIN who got to them... and people only whine about the RIAA... Most of the Canadian artists actually had to form their own organization to stop those guys from practically making it illegal to remember what music sounded like in your own head... :dozey: When your own artists are against you like that don't you think for one moment, hey, maybe we should think about how we approach this....
  18. Saw in a flyer that the Killers and LCD Soundsystem both have something coming out next week... though I couldn't tell if it's live or not. Really surprised there hasn't been any fuss about the Killers one, actually... *shrug*
  19. I learned that I'm more allergic to bananas than I thought I was. :(
  20. Guys know better and they still do it too. Alot of guys. So if I'm a girl and I want to go out and have a bit of reckless fun, I could potentially have hell to pay for it from society at large (or at least papers who like to print that junk) but the guys I was drinking with get off scott free, because you know, guys will be guys so no one cares. Don't drink, don't want to, think it's dumb, but the double standard in the media is really starting to make me sick. No wonder they say women are becoming more miserable. :veryangry2::veryangry2::veryangry2::veryangry2:
  21. ^Thanks for the lists, they've been added :nice: OK guys, I've made a decision on the deadline (though it's not set in stone if it turns out to be a really bad time for everyone) The deadline is: December 15 10:00pm EST (3am GMT) The last of the big releases should be out by then. If you think that time will collide with holiday preparation/exams, I suggest you finalize your list now and just throw in last minute additions in December.
  22. *sigh* edit- heh... someone just scored
  23. Ok... who accidentally pressed the mute button? And why is there a sportscast leaking through?
  24. Wow... you're two hours off GMT then? Good luck with your mom. It's only 7:30 here...
  25. Have to leave a memo for my sucessor then... I really want to be able to do the countdown the week before new years when everyone else puts out best of lists.
