  1. ^Yeah, loved the hat. :nice: I'm kinda thinking Will's neckbrace is supposed to be part of his costume... it sort of goes with the fingerless gloves and the silly accent.

  3. One of them. Don't know if it's the actual original, but judging by the tape around the base it's one of the ones that wobbled around on Chris' keyboard when they played live back in the early days.
  4. Basically the people who set up the calendar were a little short on foresight. The first year was naturally year one to them. It didn't occur to them that it would make everyone's lives a little bit easier for thousands of years to come if there was a year zero. (Actually, in the west the concept of zero didn't really exist at the time.) So strictly technically Tonsu is right. For all the y2k nonsense, the millennium actually began in 2001 along with the current decade. BUT for convenience sake, everything is arranged and remembered as if there had been a year zero. So in reality the decade lasts from 2000 to 2009 and the next decade will be from 2010 to 2019. And the only time anyone ever cares is when the decade flips over and the technical nitpickers start wittering about when the decade actually ends. It's the same argument people have about which day midnight belongs to.
  5. I'm back on. Like the new colour scheme. :nice:
  6. GLOBE!!!! :bomb: Wishing I was rich right now.... (or at least less broke)
  7. Brilliant list. I have some order issues of course, (In Rainbows higher, Funeral top 5 and so on, and on, and on...) and some Rolling Stone standards getting adoration because they do issues, but it is the first (ranked) list I've seen that really reflects the range and quality of what was happening this decade. Will probably have a big influence on my decade list. Anyone taken a good look at the song list? It's great too.
  8. aaaah... it's the 10th, isn't it. :uhoh: Um... will vote after school if you haven't closed this by then. stupid exam. *grumble*
  9. Depends on which parallel reality you live in. And wow... long time no see. :stunned:
  10. Re facebook today.... my head hurts more than normal...
  11. :shocked2: I did not expect their list to be half that good. Sure there's the obligatory Dylan ect., but it really... makes sense. The popular stuff people will remember balanced with the artsy stuff that deserves to be there. (Woo Fleet Foxes :nice:) Not half bad, RS, not half bad.
  12. *nods* Will do. You can have my (mainly) undivided attention on Monday. Do you (or anyone) have any ideas in mind for a look or style or even a theme colour? The Gloaming- if you want to collaborate or brainstorm or whatever, pm me.
  13. ^They usually are, aren't they? :laugh3:
  14. At school... avoiding work. Really need to get back to it now. :disappointed:

^ It's true! Talk about a diva... :smug2: And we still got McCartney ect. in spite of all the doom-mongerers. :smug: Want to get rid of her in a hurry? Hurt her manager/husband's feelings. With a blog. A BLOG I tell you. :laugh4:
  17. Hmm... Green Day... Well they certainly proved against us that they know how to poll-crash when they want to. They're not the best of the decade, and they didn't represent the sounds of the decade. But you have to admit (begrudgingly) that no other thing really captured the zeitgeist of the angsty, cynical, terror-phobic, self-centered decade better than American Idiot, regardless of quality. Overall not unexpected. It is a public poll, and on Rolling Stone at that. Kind of represents the readers who can still stand them. At least Radiohead did very well and Arcade Fire made the bands list, (and of course Coldplay! :nice:) so not a total loss/ deviation from what has been.
  18. Posts Per Day: 3.30 or 1204 posts a year. One day in Crests' time. I'll never catch up.

^Yeah, but the piss-taking started long before then... :inquisitive:

Interesting indeed... I clearly missed some fight or something a very long time ago. P.S. :laugh3: :laugh3: :laugh3: :wreck:
  22. We'd all get to point and laugh. :P
  23. That's from the Toronto Star. It's Toronto's main legitimate newspaper not a tabloid. A Canadian newspaper speaking to a Canadian scientist who'd just gotten back from sea... I posted it because it was a nice summary of the longer National Post article. I have to say I don't follow you...
