gentleparachute, I agree with what you feel are the weak points of the album. When you say that if Coldplay didn't feel the album was up to par, they should have taken more time....well, they missed two or more deadlines...(maybe they should have missed more :lol: ) Speaking of over-hype, EMI publicly admitted that profits for the first quarter dropped because Coldplay's album was delayed. Not only are they over-hyping the album, but that's immense pressure on the band if your record company single-handledly places blame on just your band. you're right...maybe they should change labels. The reason why i think coldplay will lose their pre-parachutes and Parachutes fans due to change of sound is because of other bands that have experimented with their sound that lost fans. I think these bands are still extremely talented, for example, Radiohead, Pearl Jam, but people were not happy with the new phase. Even with U2, when they released 'Zooropa', fans weren't too happy with the whole discopop sound. Granted, i didn't like this phase as well, but i commended them for expanding their scope.

in the most recent Marie Claire magazine, there is an article that quotes Gwyneth saying she thinks England is depressing and cold, BUT she added that she grew to love England. It's funny...in the UK edition, they 'mysteriously' leave that last part out...the media is trying to make Gwyneth a bad person. Sighs...why can't they leave her alone?
