  4. June 24, 2009 - submitted by Miguel, Canada Q. Dear Oracle, my family is friends with another family and the dad of this other family is a world class tae kwon do fighter. This other family is also quite rich so the "son" in the other family practically brags about how great he is. Now me and the son used to be friends back when I came to Canada (when I really didnt know much about stuff) then when I came to Canadian school trouble started to happen. He teased me alot about some choices I made, like how I told on people, (he told me no one likes a teller). Until now he teases me about the stuff I did before. Sometimes he would punch me because I know I cant fight back because I dont want cause a family feud because my Dad vs his Dad, not a fair match. Oh dear Oracle what should I do? He told me not to tell anyone about it but I'm lucky he doesn't care about Coldplay. The Oracle replies: Ok, so maybe nobody likes a tell tale but in this case that's exactly what I am advising you to do. Tell someone! A teacher, your dad or anyone you can trust. Forget about his threats. This guy is a bully and needs to be stopped. I don't think you should worry about fighting back because that would be sinking to his level. That said you do need to stand up for yourself and protect yourself. Telling someone is a good start. It may help if you ignore him and seem like you couldn't care less as he'll soon get bored but he'd find a new victim so that would still perpetuate the problem with someone else. Bullies prey on certain people because they know they can get away with that behaviour. It shouldn't matter whether his Dad is a better fighter than yours because they are adults and hopefully they won't try and settle the matter by resorting to fighting themselves. Don't fear the son, he may seem very strong but bullying is s sign of weakness and he's the one with the problem, not you. The only problem you have is wondering what to do, well trust me when I say you must not handle this alone.
  5. June 24, 2009 - submitted by Clarissa, Austria Q. High Oracle! Where is my question after I wrote it and pushed the "submit a question" button?? The Oracle replies: I got it. It's here in my administration system. It only shows up on the site if I answer it, like this one!
  6. June 24, 2009 - submitted by Naill, United Kingdom Q. Is there anyway to contact the Coldplay crew? The Oracle replies: Not really but depending what it is you want the information for, you could just email your query to me at [email protected]. I can forward it if appropriate or reply to you direct.
  7. June 24, 2009 - submitted by Omar, United Kingdom Q. Hello Oracle! 1. In the live video of Lovers in Japan and Lost!, Chris Martin has something in his ear ... what is it? 2. Why do you get shadows under your eyes when you sleep late? And what are they? Cheers, Omar The Oracle replies: 1. Whenever you see a musician/singer with plugs in their ears, they're in-ear monitors that are feeding the mixed sound of instruments etc. This is because the sound onstage is very different from what we hear as the audience. The monitors are bespoke and also offer a good level noise reduction from the volume of the live show. 2. Late nights make your skin paler and so the dark circles show up through its paler appearance. Shadows could also be signs of various factors or conditions such as iron deficiency, age or a genetic reason.
