  1. Oh shit....... 11pm the day before? *loves the USA right now!! :stunned: * See, security around the venues doesn't allow people to line up the night before, and if you did decide to sleep on the Bostonian pavement well uh..... haha........ NOT SMART. :uhoh: So people really only start lining up here on the East Coast around 1am-3am the morning of the show. But wow...... That's just...... whoo. Kudos to you, once again... :stunned:

  3. Haha, Denise have you seen the previews for that movie coming out in November? I have no idea what it's called, but Kate Winslet and Cameran Diaz are in it. They get sick of men in their area so they swap lives and houses etc etc. We should sooo do that, just for U2 :laugh4: :P I'm hoping that next time they come around I can save up quite a bit of money and catch them in Ireland. That would be the ULTIMATE. I loooove the Devil Wears Prada, great film! The part with the U2 song is so amazing, I sort of flipped in the theater and danced in my seat when it came on :laugh4:
  4. My brother told me that those "background survivors" have been cast, with names! So yes, in all likelyhood, we will see a lot more of them! Definately interesting....
  5. Does Stan own another pair of pants?! SERIOUSLY. LMFAO LMFAO
  6. Oh my god, the third one. Kate looks freakin' amazing.... Thanks again! :D
  7. :laugh4: :laugh4: Nice. haha
  8. I love theeeem omg
  9. Yeah, see I truly do only speak from my own experience. I've never been to one of their "stadium" gigs. And actually, you're right Denise, the venues I saw them in were VERY tiny in comparison (what, only 18,000 in Hartford in December). I mean, I'm used to even SMALLER venues now (lmfao, 100 people in a club watching a band, that's my thing lately), so to me the Boston Garden is massive. But I've seen the clips from the European gigs and they just blow my mind :stunned: I've also read the reports and just wow, kudos to you guys. We're pussies out here in comparison :laugh4: Well... haha you know what I mean ;) I don't know, I always tend to make friends with people in the GA lines, so I can leave and come back whenever I want, but yeah.... I suppose if there are like 500 people in line and they see you leave, then come back, it could be a bit scary. For me there was probably only about.... 100 after first, then up to 200 ish (that was yanno, lining up EARLY for the rail ;) ) Oh man, I have totally refined my GA line techniques, I need U2 to come baaaack! :laugh4: Hey, I wonder if they'll play anything new on the tour...! I just thought of that, I can't wait to read these reports!
  10. I must take over this thread with my joy that I'm seeing the Sex Gods (AKA: We Are Scientists) twice in December... OMG. Tapper without the beard... he looks so cute here wtf. Sexy sexy men, yo :laugh4:
  11. Ahhh, ok. Like ABC or NBC here ;) Gotcha. Hope it works out for you guys. Stupid television channels, putting fans at the mercy of their politics. psh.
  12. Thanks! I uploaded the rest to my FLICKR here: http://flickr.com/photos/rocknserve/sets/72157594287243089/ It really was incredible, especially when Bono smiled down at me and omggg just the best thing ever! Honestly, I know that lining up can be a total pain in the ass, and it doesn't SEEM worth it at the time (fuck, I was on the pavement at 5am, and even THEN I was 30th in line)... but believe me, it pays off. Big big BIG time. :D haha, cheers. Love the Doors!
  13. Ugly Betty? So wait, what's going on with this? UK fans have Lost on one channel, but it has chosen to run a show that hasn't even proved itself HERE let alone THERE in place of Lost, which will now be on a cable-ish channel? (lmfao sorry I have no idea what Channel 4 is, although I hear about it a lot.) That's really horrible, guys..... :\ If that ever happened here, like if ABC got rid of Lost and made it go onto HBO... I'd die, or scream really really loud lmfao ugh. Ugly Betty.... I dunno I watched a couple episodes of that, it was ok. It didn't strike me or anything, though.... meh. Definately definately DEFINATELY not superior to Lost.
  14. Yanno, I'm not totally sure because I'm not a complete computer savvy person. But from what I know, I think it's like a little stick that you put into one of the drives in your computer (like... you plug it in? LMFAO see I know nothing) and it's kind of like a memory stick, I think, and the information on it will pop up on your screen and you can put it into your itunes or something. Don't quote me on it though! Seems kind of random to me, to be honest. But I give them kudos for trying out all these new fangled money making things. The live CDs, the USB single, very interesting.
  15. Yeah, the Boston Garden is pretty amazing. They started doing it during their May '05 shows, when it was utterly HORRIBLE weather here (it was literally the most rain we've ever gotten in like... YEARS here, and it rains a fair amount lmfao). So instead of leaving everyone in the rain, or making them come inside, they just told everybody to sod off with their wristbands :laugh4: It was really helpful, even though my mom and I didn't go home, we slept in the car, then got to eat and all that. But hey, hanging out in a GA line can be fun too. U2 fans are crazy, I love 'em  Or at least they are HERE. Here are all my souveneirs from that day, which I'm still convinced is one of the best days of my life. :nice: Don't laugh at my stuffed animals! LMFAO Yes, I am an adult, I hang onto these things haha. The stuffs in the frame behind my clock, fyi ;) I've got confetti that falls during COBL, my U2 postcard that I got in Barcelona, signed by Edge and Adam, my two tickets, my wristband that glowed in the dark omg so cool and a printed picture I took, this one: :nice: lmfao, sorry I don't mean to blab about myself or own this thread or anything, I just can't stop talking about that day sometimes...! haha I really hope everyone who goes to see them in the future enjoys their gigs as much as I did. I met a kid at a Strokes gig who went to see them twice (May and December) and he said he was really disapointed because they just did the same exact setlist. I found that really hard to believe, since I saw them in May, October, and December twice... I never ONCE had the same setlist. Be it a song rotated out (Running To Stand Still, I only heard once) or a surprise third encore (All Because of You and Fast Cars in Boston, that was INCREDIBLE) or a Zoo TV vs. Acoustic encore, it's always different. Ah well.
  16. You can always get someone to hold your place in the GA line while you go find the back entrance ;) See, I've only seen them GA here in Boston, where they don't require you to line up all day (instead you get numbered wristbands and you only have to return at 5:30, I met the band around 4:30 so... yeah). Wow, I can't believe it's been over a year since that concert date (when I had GA).... I miss them!
  17. Ooooh, I will I will! :laugh4: :smug:
  18. http://www.nme.com/news/dirty-pretty-things/24802 awww, Josh!
  19. This Is Sex. mmmmmf Bryan (one in the middle, fyiiii). I enjoy them lmfao lmfao lmfaooo Figured that was worth a post, yes.
  20. I AGREE... :uhoh:
  21. an_cat replied to mburn's topic in The World Of Music
Haha, yeah a friend of mine saw them open for him and she said a ton of people didn't even stay to see them play, so she got to be right up front for that. Pretty lucky, but foolish Petty fans tsk tsk tsk
  22. They get to the venue around 4:30-6:30 the night of the show. I know this cuz I waited three times for them ;) Unless it's pouring rain, or there's only 2 people out there, or like 75, OR around 6:15-7pm then they won't stop. Other than those really random and unlikely circumstances, they will come out and give you an autograph and take as much time as they can :D I mean, obviously there is a chance that they might not. But don't take a car driving by as a final "no". I know that Edge and Larry arrived to the venue around 4 and Edge came out at 4:45 to sign autographs (I met him :D ) Bono also stopped and got out of his car, as did Adam. We assumed Larry didn't come out because of his back problems and he probably needs to relax before the show (although there was a rumor of him having come out righta fter 4 and signing the very few people's autographs that were there, it's no secret he's not much of a crowd person heh). As for after, yeah, they do come out. I know people who met them around midnight to 1am after the show. This was always when they had another date in the same city, though, so I'm not totally sure. Suppose it depends on where they're going after. It's always a gamble, but it is DEFINATELY not impossible. In fact, U2 is one of the most touchable bands I have ever met, definately more so than Coldplay. They will always make time for you, if they can, and they're just the biggest sweethearts... So humble and sweet :nice: I got Adam's and Edge's autographs, but I was too terrified to ask Bono for his lmfao Good luck, sorry for that long winded blah blah blah. I have Bono-itis... :laugh4:
  23. Awwwwwwww, Peter looks great! Cheers for those :D
  24. Hey, I've missed the damn bastards every other time they've come since I wasn't 18 yet, but haha! Now I'm just going to catch them as often as I can! :laugh4: ;) I suppose I'll see you in NYC then (I'm going up with a friend, I'm psyched!)
  25. Awwww, cute dog! :nice: She seems very emo in that picture though :P Awesome shots! And I will check out your flickr ;)
