  3. Dreaming of when the morning comes
  4. 3:42... Something to do with 42, or am I missing something?
  5. 1.36 was a song by Coldplay, a from The Scientist (single), which also had I Ran Away on it. I quite liked the hevay rock style of 1.36, so hopefully it means something - but it probably doesn't.
  6. I assume that the song would have sounded similar (at least with the notes) but inevitably the lyrics would have changed over time. I'm going to assume that the photo you attached is an early version of Ghost Stories and not something you made up. It's interesting to see how the album has changed, although we might be going a bit off topic here... I can't see track 1, so I'm going to assume it's Always In My Head The Race: This could mean the song was made as early as GS but, again, kept from being released. I doubt that it was an early name for Magic. Anothers Arms: As track 3, funnily enough. Atlas: Interesting to see how it was going to be on GS instead of (or in addition to) being released separately. Was it ever released on GS as part of a Japanese edition or something? True Love: I assume because of The Race, this song have been pushed back one track. Ghost Stories: I assume that this is Ghost Story and had a similar fate to Moving To Mars - they wanted to have it on the album but couldn't, so released it separately. I just wished that happened to A Ghost. ? Oceans: Is in its usual place of track 7. I wonder if it still bridged into A Sky Full Of Stars? World Without You (?): Probably an early name for ASFOS. Fly On: In its usual place. Magic, Always In My Head, Ink and Midnight appear not to exist yet, or not be on GS. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OK, back on topic. In the version of The Race I downloaded, there were no Kaleidoscope lyrics. There are some possibilities here: This is an older version of the song and these lyrics hadn't been added yet. This is a newer version of the song and these lyrics were removed. The lyrics on lyrics.com aren't accurate. The Kaleidoscope lyrics hadn't been leaked, so could not have been added to the mix. I think this is the most likely since the other AHFOD-esque lyrics, as I said earlier, are in the mix. In X Marks The Spot, there are lyrics that refer to the heart ("You make my heart bo-boom..."), as well as "So I race for it" as you say. I have a feeling that, when The Race was supposedly cut from AHFOD, the lyrics they added in the bridge were salvaged and made into X Marks The Spot, a hidden track.
  7. 'Time and space' do go with the name 'Music Of The Spheres' very well. That said, the versions of The Race we have heard sound a lot like Ghost Stories stuff, probably because that's when it's from according to what we have just found out. Perhaps The Race was meant to be on GS but Coldplay cancelled it and waited for another time to release it - like on MOTS. I think we can be 90% sure that The Race will be released on the next album, considering how Coldplay are copyright striking every video they can find of it on YouTube except for covers. The version I downloaded that I copied the lyrics from is long gone sadly. Other than the AHFOD bit, how much of The Race is thought to have been leaked? The one I downloaded, while certainly not complete, seems to have more than enough in it to be a completed song. EDIT: There's a bridge (I assume) in this downloaded mixed version that has the lines... "My heart is beating The beat won't stop Instead of sinking Drink in every drop" x2 This sounds a lot like something you'd hear in Army of One or X Marks The Spot, not necessarily because of the lyrics themselves but because of how they are delivered. Perhaps it's a late addition to the song?
  8. I'm sure I recognise that from somewhere. I downloaded a mixed version of The Race that has a few more lines than the leak we already know and love, so I'll have a listen. EDIT: Yep, it's from The Race. "Any old time Any old space Only you make my heart race Only eyes (?) Only taste" "And in another time And in another space Such a beautiful face I'm so many lights (?) And I'm so many shapes (?) Over the place" "This heart is a volcano ??? In colours, I'm on fire (?)" "In all the time" and "In all the space" are also there.
  9. As Jon Lasseter said, you never finish something, you only stop working on it.
  10. Not necessarily. Ghost Stories got its title track on an EP, and music of the Spheres doesn't seem like a name that would work with a song. I'll add it anyway though. Noted. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Race Us Against The World (updated version) UFO (new version or new song) Music Of The Spheres (title track) Is UFO a new song or updated version of the old one?
  11. The content of this post will also be added to the OP, as will any other posts I make of this nature. So with the discussion about Us Against The World on the main forum, here's a list of the songs that are likely to be on MOTS: The Race Us Against The World This list will be gradually updated over time. When the final track list is released, I'll do a comparison of the anticipated songs vs the actual track list.
  12. 24/04/2021 This is a new track list, with the songs that we're sure of and we think might be on the album: The Race (unconfirmed; a sensible guess) Alien Radio Higher Power The Rocket (unconfirmed) Us Against The World (updated version) UFO (possibly a new song) Music Of The Spheres (title track) This list will be gradually updated over time. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So since Music Of The Spheres is pretty much as confirmed as it has ever been, I thought I'd move the discussion of the track list into its own thread. Here we can speculate about what songs will be included, how they might sound, and finally discuss the final songs when MOTS finally releases. DJK wrote this list of unreleased songs that we want to be released. In my opinion, The Race is highly likely to be released on this album, possibly as a single. While significantly less likely than The Race, Lethal Drug is quite recent and wouldn't shock any of us if it is released on Music Of The Spheres. As for the other songs, I doubt any of them will be released on MOTS, if ever, but I'm sure we'd be pleased if they were. Car Kids likely became Charlie Brown, so we can probably get rid of that straight away, and Lukas was released by Natalie Imbruglia so that one can be taken off. There has been a discussion that I wasn't really paying attention to? about a new song called UFO (that may or may not be related to the UFO from Mylo Xyloto) and a new version of Us Against The World, also from MX. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's time to get working on the track list! Currently we think there will be a single on the 7th of May called Higher Power - the name sounds like some sort of entity or being that controls us. Interesting... Alien Radio is part of the promotion for the album, so I think it's safe to assume it's the name of one of the songs on the album. The Race (unconfirmed; a sensible guess) Alien Radio Higher Power This is presumably lyrics to one of the songs on the album; I'd say Higher Power because it is supposedly the first single. It seems a bit like a chorus, but I could be and probably am wrong... "The joy is electric and you're circuiting through ('through' in a higher note) I'm so happy that I'm alive at the same time as you" (down a note at the end) Alternatively, it could be the titles of songs on the album put into a sentence, which is a thing I see a lot in the YouTube comments section. Here are some ideas for that: The Joy Is Electric (or perhaps Electric Joy) Circuit (?) I'm So Happy (I'm Alive With You)
  13. Usually how long has it been between the trademark being accepted and the release of the album?
  14. Perhaps Coldplay could do something like Major Tom, where they revisit their character every other album, like how Bowie did in Space Oddity, Ashes To Ashes, Major Tom (arguably) and Blackstar, which is one of my favourite Bowie songs and the closest to what you described, although it is less about the journey and more about the ending. But still, the song changes massively over its 10 minute duration and goes through a number of styles (as one commenter on the music video said, "That feeling when you're dying so you decide to write a 10-minute Gregorian chant hip-hop techno-jazz rock opera."). Coldplay could try to pack in all of their styles into one long song and make it a tribute to all of their past albums. That would be cool. Must have been a pretty dreadful year for music then.?
  15. I hope they lean more towards the 'rock' in pop-rock. Pop music is pretty poor nowadays and has been on a decline since 2010 (how WAP is so successful I'll never know), and I'd like to see something more like rock in the early 2000s and 80s. I'd like songs that are like Smile Like You Mean it and All These Things That I've Done by The Killers, Temptation (12", the best version) and Crystal by New Order, All I Want (which is actually based on Heroes by David Bowie) and All My Friends by LCD Soundsystem, 1979 and Tonight, Tonight by The Smashing Pumpkins, Love Is Noise by The Verve, and Tumble And Fall, Just The Way I'm Feeling and Feeling A Moment by Feeder. As well as a countless number of Bloc Party songs. Alternatively, they could go more like how they did with Midnight (one of my favourite Coldplay songs) and make a more electro-pop (but not dance) inspired album. Again, I think songs like Couleurs and We Own The Sky by M83, Flux and Compliments by Bloc Party, Under Your Spell by Desire, Lovers Who Uncover (Crystal Castles) by The Little Ones, Positive by Hot Chip, and many a song by CHVRCHES (most prominently Gun, The Mother We Share and Tether) could be good inspirations if they are going down this route. They could also go down David Bowie and Queen's style of music that I don't know how to describe. Just as @Stanz2500said, something like Space Oddity or Blackstar could be beautiful. They could also do something like Black Screen by LCD Soundsystem, a beautiful song that is very calming. In Black Screen, there is no chorus or verses as such, just lyrics spread over a gradually changing base track. Jon Hopkins could help with that. Hopefully the lyrics get better with this album. Everyday Life was not that bad lyrically, but I just hope that with the MX-era songs coming back, we don't get MX-era lyrics coming back as well. "I'd rather be a comma than a full stop" is possibly the worst-written song lyric I've ever heard. Other than WAP. And hopefully they don't underwrite or over-produce the new songs, because it pains me to listen to songs that are great but would have been so much better if just a bit more effort was put in to writing it, like We Found Love by Rihanna.
  16. That something to do with Coldplay will be called Music Of The Spheres. It could be a song, but it's likely an album - or perhaps something else?
  17. It's on Spotify, in the UK at least. https://open.spotify.com/track/0kuv7BqWNDprDao3Tb5flN?si=ftpuOk5uSyOGI9dvjpwTgA
  18. Glasses of Water and Death And All His Friends were great on that. Possibly better than the studio versions.
  19. There aren't any actual clues for any song other than The Race (which we're 99% certain will be on the next album). We're just looking at recently found unreleased songs like Lethal Drug and guessing which ones are the most likely to be released on the album.
  20. It is (for me at least).
  21. So it is, I didn't see it. That's one off my checklist...
  22. Never heard of them? On what were they released?
  23. I wonder how many officially-released Coldplay songs are not on Spotify? The Jon Hopkins remix of Midnight isn't and neither is the acoustic version of Lovers in Japan. Are there any others?
  24. I'm hoping for A View From The Top, Moses, A Ghost and Lukas but that's unrealistic, and as much as I'd like actual releases of the reprises form Live 2012 that's sadly not going to happen either. What about Lethal Drug? I like that one a lot. And what about Flags? It wouldn't be the first time a Japan-only song is released worldwide.
