  1. It's not the first time there's been swearing in a Coldplay song. Arabesque and Guns both had it in the lyrics, Trouble In Town had it in a clip played over the bridge (which was unfortunate; it was a really nice bridge), The Man Who Swears had it, and I think Lost+ even had the n-word.
  2. On Spotify, LSG is already a single, but more of the promotional type, and I think it came out at the same time as the album for some reason. Hopefully the proper single has a B-side on it...
  3. I don't think it is allowed, sorry. That said, all three versions occasionally appear on YouTube, but you need to download them pretty quickly as they get taken down within a few weeks. Oh, and even if it was allowed, my hard drive has failed so I currently cannot access the files.
  4. Good (?) news - videos of The Race on YouTube have been taken down. This applies to the two 'full' versions of the song, and not the AHFOD documentary version (yet). It's bad if you wanted to listen to the song, but it's great for those who want it released, because it shows Coldplay/the record labels still have interest in it. Other unreleased songs, like A Ghost, Life Is Beautiful and many more haven't been touched in comparison.
  5. Someone else will probably answer this better but from what I've seen, the song was first known about on Ghost Stories, where its lyrics feature in the artwork, but was first heard in the A Head Full Of Dreams documentary, and had a copyright date of 2018. This is likely the latest version of the song. Two leaks of it were released which have little in common with the AHFOD version, and may well be an entirely different song. We're not allowed to send links to them, but all three versions occasionally appear on YouTube. They're often taken down quickly though, which could suggest Coldplay still have an interest in releasing it.
  6. They've already done a remix of Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall.
  7. Admittedly I did go through the entire song waiting for Chris to sing "There's an old song coming on the radio"...
  8. I really enjoyed the experimentation on Music of the Spheres; all of the songs feel very different from each other. I hope they keep experimenting because they can create some really good songs when they do. We saw with Human Heart and Let Somebody Go more 'calm' music, so I'd love to see something along the lines of The State We're In by Beth Orton and The Chemical Brothers, Jesus Alone by Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, or Cloud Song by Caribou. On the other hand, People Of The Pride and to a lesser extent Humankind went down the road of 'proper' rock, so I'd love to see them do something like The Twilight Sad - heavy, emotional rock. Some of their songs, like And She Would Darken The Memory, Cold Days From The Birdhouse and my personal favourite, the nine-minute epic, Untitled #4. The Twilight Sad also occasionally do some pop-orientated songs, like the brilliant Tell Me When We're Having Fun, which sounds a bit like Radiohead meets Mylo Xyloto. And if they're going to do something like that, they could also try what CHVRCHES do, like with their recent song California. Another song of their, The Mother We Share, is interesting as it uses vocal samples as the instrumental - we saw a bit of that on MOTS but I'd like them to try and go further with that. Returning to The Chemical Brothers, they do some loud, very fast-paced music that I enjoy a lot. Swoon and The Private Psychedelic Reel and good examples of this, but I'd like to give an honourable mention to the BT remix of Break On Through by The Doors, and the amazing Superdiscount remix of An Honest Mistake by The Bravery (Burnout has always had a great soundtrack). MOTS was also the first album to have a long song, which would grow over time to become something pretty much unstoppable by the end. The last few minutes of Coloratura are Coldplay at their best, and I'd love if they had a 'Coloratura 2' on their next album, whatever it may be called. Perhaps Stairway to Heaven (obviously), Time by La Düsseldorf, and even Auto Rock by Mogwai could be inspirations for that? Obviously I want to see The Race, Life Is Beautiful and other unreleased songs on the next album (and I'll have to put a suggestion for A Ghost obviously), but we'll just have to be hopeful. Coldplay definitely have plans with The Race, but whether that will be fruitless remains to be seen.
  9. That's annoying, I only have two of them. Do both the second and third versions have the Kaleidoscope lyrics?
  10. Is this the AHFOD documentary version?
  11. I guess it's no weirder than having People Of The Pride on it... I was thinking that as I was listening to it. The only way ALIENS could have been more suitable for me was if it was literally called Music Of The Spheres. Perhaps MOTS is the X&Y2 some people wanted for years. I don't think it was written very well either; I think they're saying the band should (or will) 'flee' the album (try and forget about it, as if it never happened), and that at live shows Coldplay will just become 'another band', irrelevant in some way.
  12. Everybody knows the mums know best, so here are my mother's opinions on the new album. My Universe My mother didn't like it when it first came out but after hearing it for a second time it has grown on her a lot, like it has for me. Humankind My favourite track on the album alongside Coloratura, my mother was positive about this song. I loved the choruses on this song, and my mother did as well. Let Somebody Go She didn't give any opinions on it (although that isn't a bad thing), but she did ask "Who is Selena Gomez?" Bless her. She is my idol. Human Heart We both found this a more relaxed and emotional track. Others have said it's a bit boring, and I do think at some times it is a bit empty. It could have been improved with just a little bit more going on, and perhaps by ditching one of the verses. People Of The Pride She absolutely loved this. When the song got going she said "This album is really good", so I think this was her favourite song from the album. I don't like live music - it makes me feel very anxious - so I can't comment on if it is better than the live version. Talking about concerts, we both saw a news report on the BBC about the kinetic flooring and she saw the recent concerts they've been doing, with all the pretty lights in the audience, and she said we should have gone to the concert they did on the 12th at the O2. Of course, that would have been impossible as I had COVID at the time. Biutyful When she first heard the Alvin And The Chipmunks lyrics, she laughed out loud, but by the end she was enjoying the song. I did as well, which was surprising. My Universe She didn't hear the song when it was first released, but liked the song anyway. She particularly enjoyed the outro. Strangely, she preferred the normal version to the acoustic version, which I didn't expect since she likes the more acoustic song Coldplay makes. Infinity Sign My mother got up and danced at this one. I gagged a little, but I'm glad she enjoyed it. For me, the clapping )or whatever it is) is quite annoying and should have been turned down a little. With no lyrics I also found the song too long. If it was half its current length I wouldn't have minded the way it was produced. Coloratura When Coloratura came out (or, more specifically, Overtura) I was going through a very tough time in my life and it did make me feel a bit better. We both really enjoyed the song, especially when Chris sings "And in this crazy world, I do / I just want you." Awww.
  13. At least it's not 'I'd rather be a comma / Than a full stop'
  14. I got an email this morning about my CD being shipped. Let's just hope '2-5 working days' means tomorrow.
  15. Ah good, I'm not missing out on anything. Unless it's a remix of the acoustic version??? ?
  16. On Amazon UK there is a listing for a CD of Music Of The Spheres with Japan-only bonus tracks, which costs an eye-watering £36.20 (presumably because it is a Japanese import). The listing says it will be released on the 5th of November and includes two extra tracks. Does anybody know if this is real and, if it is, what the extra tracks are? I'd hate to have to go to Japan just to listen to The Race.
  17. I contacted the store support last night about my order... Nothing back yet.
  18. I can't check because I don't have an account, but as I live near London* my best hope is for it to arrive on release day. But the pessimist in me is saying to me it'll come late or won't come at all. *Well, technically closer to France, and it's literally easier for me to take a train to Paris than Edinburgh, but we can gloss over that. ------------------------------------------------ EDIT: People are so obsessed with the leak they missed the new People Of The Pride snippet... https://www.instagram.com/p/CU7HNAWIqo9 PS: How do I embed video into posts?
  19. I hope Infinity Sign is Life Is Beautiful, but I hope it has updated lyrics. It's one of the few Coldplay songs where I don't like much of the lyrics. I use music as escapism and therefore I don't like it when people who are in no position to engage in political activism shove it down my throat. I just want to listen to music. I know it's been confirmed to have lyrics, the Life In Technicolor approach would make sense. EDIT: Yes, it's a controversial opinion.
  20. Doomotron posted a topic in Coldplaying.com
On my profile, it says my rank is A Sky Full of Stars. What do the ranks mean, and what ranks are available?
  21. I know I'm reviving an old thread, but is this feature available? A dark theme would be quite nice.
  22. Talking about getting copies early, have any of you got email from the Coldplay store saying that your order is being shipped? Because I pre-ordered the album but I haven't got anything from them yet.
  23. I probably would listen to the leaks - they're super-rich, so I don't care about ethics - but since leaks get shot down here incredibly quickly and I don't know where else to find them, I'll just settle for listening to it at the intended time on my pre-ordered CD.
