to answer the question once and for all john barry wrote the song, nancy sinatra performed it for the bond film. robbie williams sampled the srings for his song millenium coldplay covered the original barry/sinatra version chris martins comment at the beginning is a joke referencing robbies sampling

as i understand it the song was named after the dutch capital, as this is where it was written, if the song had a normal name ie to do with the lyrics what do you think it would have been?

coldplay may get bigger than oasis but they will never define an era or generation like oasis did and to ZU no offence intended but to suggest that th eonly influence on oasis is the beatles is ridiculous what about t rex slade abba velvet underground the stones the who jus to mention a few

i think that dont believe the truth is fantastic and goes near to capturing the form of their first albums. x&y however could be coldplay at their peak so x&y is better, but if we compare it to definitely maybe or morning glory i dont know

will the b sides not be brand new songs that didnt make it onto x&y? how definite is it that fix you will be the next single? i think white shadows and talk would be better they show a side that coldplay have never really shown before

only one of queen has expressed a dislike. in any case i still think they could do justice too some queen songs. does anyone know if any of the band have a liking for queen. and on the pink floyd subject how about comfortably numb? i know scissor sisters did one but coldplay could do one more in keeping with the original.
