I clean up pretty well... I think... I take a shower every other day usually (yes, every OTHER day, haha.) but, I take a shower everyday too if I really need to--and now it's friggin' hot in southern California and I go to an open school campus (we walk outside from class to class) so... yeah... that calls for a shower every day. In the winter? meh. Haha, I take long showers though (20 minutes--is that long? Haha) I don't know why but when I'm in the shower I wash my hair like... at least twice... and put conditioner... haha. Hey! I get nice comments abot my hair. And I spend like... an hour straightening it and styling it and stuff. Yeah. I don't like it if my hair isn't silky smooth, hahaha. I wash my face and brush my teeth every day and night... I need to floss more though, hehe.

I like science, haha.

I like some rap (I like Kanye west a bit... and Outkast), rock of all kinds, hip-hop (Gnarls Barkley!), heavy mettalll/metalcore/hardcore whatever!! (System of a Down, Avenged Sevenfold, Darkest Hour), I really like the Oceans 11 and 12 soundtracks, whatever genre Sigur Ros falls in, whatever genre Imogen Heap (or... Frou Frou) falls in--I think jazz and swing are cool (but I don't have jazz CD's or anything), and I like techno (but, I don't have any techno CD's or anything). I hate trashy rap and really, really, really overrated crap. Yeah... but I'm trying to like all kinds of music--I used to be jealous of my friends that liked all types of music and I was stuck with my two Coldplay CD's, haha.

Hm. I always look at art a a textbook, or technical point of view I guess... If I see a 'nice' photo, my usual comments are like "oh, I like how you used the lines on the road to lead the eye out of the photo--", or, "nice use of low perspective" or, "that's nicely composed--good use of the rule of thirds" blah blah. And it bugs me when, in photos, the horizon isn't level, it's blurry, over exposed, under exposed, blah blah blah. Even if it's supposed to have a lot of meaning or whatever--that really, eh, brings it down. I usually can't get an idea or concept from a photo--they just look nice to me. Oh yes, and it really, really bugs me when people take snapshots of really random stuff and call it art--taking a quick picture like uh, this: ISN'T ART! IMO.

More pointless rants from Alyssa. Anyway, I was sitting in class today, drawing something while a teacher was lecturing, and she got mad at me, told me to put my stuff away and give her my undivided attention. I was once told that doodling and drawing (not drawing where you have to think--y'know, with the light sources and how light reflects against certain objects 'n such... that's for... art students) uses a different part of your brain than your ears, so, you could draw and listen at the same time. For me, that's very easy. :D Talking, on the other hand, or studying for another subject, or writing a paper will require most of your attention/concentration so that's unacceptable during a lecture. Of course I wouldn't say that to the teacher... so I just put it away. When I'm asked to put my drawings away, I get bored with the lecture and fall asleep... I can't give my full attention if it's not all needed--my senses get bored. If you're drawing while listening to a lecture, you get to entertain half of your brain while the other is listening to the teacher--lectures are my best friends if I can draw during the class. I'm an audiotory learner so everything said pretty much sticks to my brain. So, undivided attention is overrated... in my case, heh. Why I made a topic about this? I have no clue!

I have a weird approach with debates sometimes. I'm not trying to condemn then or anything, but I want them to take some of my thoughts into consideration. Really stubborn people aren't fun to debate with. It's like meeting someone at a fork in a road, and they usually go some way and you go another, but you invite them to walk the other path with you. Really stubborn people won't even try taking the other route. If you do, though, you might find that you love the trail--it's nice and scenic, shady, whatever... you might find that it's much like the path you walk all the time, or you might find that you hate it--you might have a reason and you might not. As an individual, it could just not be appealing to you, or, it could just suck in general--it's challenging, tiring, full of thorns and shiz--why would someone ever want to walk this path? You don't know. Most people would pick the nice and easy route, but a few people have their reasons for going down the not so great route--we call them extremists. It not might be the right path to take in the end, but they've got their reasons... sometimes it's hard to comprehend, but.... yeah. I don't know what's up with me and the metaphorical language or whatever tonight.
