  1. I think they'll do another extensive World Tour that will be dubbed "Farewell Coldplay" from 2026 through 2027. After that I expect Chris to release a solo album to launch his new post-Coldplay career, much like Sting did after The Police broke up. He may include Jonny, but not Will or Guy. Chris likes to create music too much. I don't think he'll quit writing music. The other members will certainly be able to live a good life. Guy has already got publishing, car racing/collecting, & his clothing line. Will & Jonny can go into other endeavors in the music business. I will certainly miss them. I thought they'd continue on like U2 has, but I think Chris just wants to do things on his own.
  2. I'm sure they have plenty of new material ready to go, including "The Race", which fans have been begging for. That would be terrific if they'd do it.
  3. The reason that I see Chris pursuing a solo career is that he can't just shut down his creative side. He talks about all of these songs being "delivered" to him. Why would that process stop? He's got no band to flesh out these new songs, so he'll create a project for himself or give them to another artist. I'd imagine he'll do them himself. I still think the band is basically finished at the end of their "Farewell Tour". There's no reason to keep touring without a reason to unless it's a cash grab and I doubt that Chris will be running around the stage like mad. I do wonder if they'll release an EP or not in-between MOTS Vol. I and Vol. II.
  4. If they stick to Chris' statement, I'd expect a new album in late 2022/early 2023, post MOTS World tour in 2022. Then another album in 2024, which he mentioned would be a "musical", which implies a story tied to it or theme. Finally, the last album of "old-style Coldplay" would be released at the end of 2025, followed by another World tour, perhaps a big Farewell Tour, which would go on from 2026 through 2027. Then they shut it down. They'll all be around 50 years old about then, so I can see them disband for quite some time before they'd attempt another tour, if at all. I do think Chris will start a solo career, similar to what Sting did after The Police broke up. Jonny may play with him, but Guy certainly has a budding career as an auto racer, publisher, and clothes designer. Will could easily become a record producer. I just don't see them on a nostalgia tour in 2035. They've been fairly prolific, so I'd bet MOTS Vol. II has a number of songs in the can. They certainly have a number of "leftovers" from their past albums to do a "Odds & Sods" type album. We all know about "The Race" floating about. When will that get a proper release?
  5. So are there only eight tracks on MOTS that you can call songs? The other four tracks are just snippets? Too bad we couldn't get "The Race" on this album. Oh well, maybe it will show up as a B-side or on an EP eventually.
  6. This is the set list from Tuesday evening's listening party in SoCal.
  7. Just listened to the snippet leaked by the BBC Radio 1 on Twitter. Holy Guacamole. This is gonna be bigger than I thought. Talk about an earworm. ??
  8. Since this new album's title is "MUSIC OF THE SPHERE'S VOL. 1", you have to wonder if there is truly a "Vol 2" in the works. I hope some one interviewing Chris in the wake MOTS's release asks that question. Also, I'll be looking at that booklet that accompanies the CD very closely now to see if there are any clues as to what their next album might be. ?
  9. Upon first listening, I found it hard to believe this was Coldplay initially. That said, as the song progressed & Chris began to sing, I became mesmerized to know that they are truly pushing the envelope here with incredible results. Bravo Chris, Guy, Jonny, & Will.
  10. After today's Glastonbury performance, I think it's fairly obvious that the title of the new album is MUSIC OF THE SPHERES since the intro featured a voice quoting that very phrase. I also think the new song "Human Heart" could have easily been included in EVERYDAY LIFE. It was a beautiful ballad. I really am getting good vibes about where the band is now. Their new music is terrific. Welcome back Coldplay.
  11. I think the album will be titled MUSIC OF THE SPHERES. "Higher Power" is a song that is being released months in advance of the album. It's expected another single may be released in mid to late Summer, when the album is officially announced. Perhaps a "Best of..." album will include "Higher Power" on its track list.
  12. Should be interesting to see if they add an extra track to their Japanese CD version of LP9. I think this has been the case for most of their albums since X&Y, except for VIVA.
