  1. It's from http://www.930.com/, they do DC area concerts. I assume US tour dates should be announced early next week , I think presales will start next Wed/Thurs. There's a gap between Feb-May, so the US tour should fit in that time.
  2. The NJ show was moved b/c a football game got moved up in time and they wouldn't have had enough time to dismantle the stage. I don't know if I want to go see them again on this tour, not a big fan of the stage and Bono sounded rough.
  3. For such a fancy pants party, some of the people were dressed so poorly. The person that top the worst dress for me was some lady wearing a neon pink spandex body suit and a dress made of chain or something that clink and clanked when she walked by. We could have snuck in if we got a off the rack evening dress from Macy's or H&M and put on some makeup. The crowd was a mix of PR people, Europeans, beautiful people, and ridiculously rich people. We were waiting by the front door which happens to be the smoking area so no one really cared that we were standing there. There was only me, my sister, and a German tourist waiting to see David Bowie at the door. Though none of us achieved our objectives, it was still an interesting night to witness. We saw so many celebrities, though I wasn't overly excited about any of them: Al Roker, Terrence Howard, Geoffrey Wright, Padma Lakshimi, Robin Thicke & his wife, Paula Patton, Adrian Greiner, Samuel L Jackson, Rachel Hunter, Stephen Dorff, Gayle King, Richard Branson, and some others. A funny moment was when two Irish guys came up to us and asked if we wanted their autographs, they said they were in that Irish movie "The Wind that Breaks the Barley." They could've been, no idea. A lot of douchey looking people too, the people that usually go to the Meatpacking District. I would say a decent amount of people left before Alicia Keys started her set, though it seemed like the party was running long since it had started around 8pm. It stinks a little we didn't see Chris, I guess he and some of the other big stars left from the back. I would have loved to see him all dressed up.
  4. Also, the reason why there is no amateur video of the event is because there was a sign posted saying "no cameras and recording" allowed inside. At least that's what I think.
  5. Remember how I said I wasn't going to make it yesterday. I ended up going there with my sister after we saw "A Steady Rain" (BTW, Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman are very nice & hot in real life). We got to Hammerstein Ballroom around 10pm. We waited and waited and waited until 1am, it was friggin cold outside. No luck seeing Chris, we saw a lot of other celebrities though. Terence Howard gave us weird looks, he's a good looking man but no we were not there for him. At about 12am, music started playing. Alicia Keys played her song "No One," I think Chris joined her for the last "oh oh oh" chorus. Then played one other song we couldn't make out. Then "Clocks" start playing, I am not sure if I heard a backing band just piped in backing music. It was nice to hear anything after waiting for so long, I did a little happy dance. Chris sounded good and didn't hear any big differences with the song other than Chris saying something at the end. We assume he was saying something about "saving the children." I think Chris maybe played "Trouble" but couldn't hear for sure. Then VLV came on. And for everyone wondering, Alicia Keys and backing instrumentals filled in for Will. She did a admirable job but she's no Will. And that was pretty much all the live music we heard for the night.
  6. Weather is crummy today. I am going to be in the city tonight, but I can't stick around to try to get a view of chris.
  7. Omg, is that the sign that is now on the PATH track? :stunned: It looks great in the photo. and for a moment I thought Cookie was at the Toronto show also.
  8. I went to the show at Highline Ballroom in NYC last night. I don't know the band that well, but the show was excellent. I squeezed myself next to the stage, took some shots before my camera battery died. There's a picture of the setlist, which I assume is the most important thing. In add'l P. Diddy was there with his crew in the balcony, :surprised: he seemed like he was into it for the most part. He's just a bad dancer, did an almost "running man" move at one point and me and this guy next to me almost cracked up. Enjoy the photos, sorry I can't be of more help with details. Album link
  9. At least a guy that works for TONY took these great pics: http://www3.timeoutny.com/newyork/thevolume/2009/08/right-place-right-time-close-ups-of-coldplay-in-the-middle-of-the-apw-mud/
  10. Glad to see some folks that went got pics and video. I am too short for that :-( Now I can say I'll go through anything for Coldplay, which in this case would be standing in fetid mud. At work, very tired. Sarah, me and her sister and bf ended up taking the 1:37am train back home. Good thing we made it, the next train would have been 3:07am.
  11. No updates on official site or twitter, argh!!! I posted before I saw Mimixxx's post. yay! I'm getting my ticket and packing my stuff.
  12. I'm on Long Island so I assume the storm is moving from West to East. Hopefully it'll pass and the festival can continue.
  13. Don't bother taking off to go there yet, they announced they are delaying the opening of the doors. http://twitter.com/allpointswest
  14. You are lucky to get a cheap ticket. I don't think it's going to happen for me since I don't live in the city. Some guy on LI was expecting like $250 for his Platinum VIP ticket and I don't want to blow that much money. Don't know how many of us are VIPs, if any. It said Castle Clinton on the webpage so that's where the Statue of Liberty ferries usually leave from. I guess they got a bigger place after last year's disaster at Pier 11.
  15. Maybe if I have time, I'll make a Warning Sign. I still didn't get a ticket yet, I'm responding to a ton of CL listings. I might be able to get VIP tickets for cheaper. I'll treat someone here to some air conditioned toilets if you want to PM me their number.
  16. Some APW news, all Friday tickets are being honored for Sat or Sun b/c of the weather. anyone who hasn't bought ticket for sunday can try to get a cheap friday one from Craigslist, if I lived in NYC I would be all over this.
  17. Just got a phone call from my sister, she said it was Will's birthday and that they were in Toronto on the same day last year. She also got an unintentional upgrade when 4 guys were being rude and smoking in a section with some kids and security kicked them out. She said she had a great time.
  18. I think there's at least 6-8 people so far. We need a game plan of where to meet since the festival is sprawling. on another note, I'm so tempted to get these half price 3 day passes on ebay but it's too tiring to go to 2-3 days. But the price is so good.
