Random Coldplay thoughts...
i'm more confident in that grouping because it came more from the band than fan speculation, but at least our conclusion is the same :D

Random Coldplay thoughts...
Had a legit shower thought not too long ago. Was thinking about the LPs and their relation to one another and what that means for LP8 (lol, i know). So, its pretty accepted by fans (and the band themselves) that the first 3 were a trilogy. I see Viva and MX being standalones with no real connection to each other or the other LPs. However, I do see a connection between GS and Dreams with the band doing the 'light and dark' theme, or at least, what i interpret as a 'light and dark' theme. So the grouping in my mind is: LP1-2-3 LP4 LP5 LP6+7 Does this mean we're moving into a completely new direction for LP8 or did I just imagine the connection between LP6+7 and we should expect another trilogy for LP6+7-8? I know i'd prefer to have LP8 be totally different, but who knows.

Kaleidoscope EP
holy shit, this is awesome, thanks for digging this up! really curious what number 2 is. At first I could see it being M2, but not i'm not so sure.

Kaleidoscope EP
if it was that easy, wouldn't everyone do it? I think you're grossly underestimating how much work and coordination is going on with all the fansites thats why i'm super grateful and apprciative of Coldplay and Coldplay Atlas, etc for what they do and how well they're doing it. Yes, only a few pages ago I kinda slammed Atlas, but even I can say the speed at which they move is very impressive.

I'll paraphrase what I always say when ppl start over analyzing titles: if 'Politik' or 'Fix You' or 'A Sky Full of Stars' was actually called 'My Brown Pants', would you really enjoy it any more or less? All I care about is how the song sounds, not necessarily what the damn title is. "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet"

Hypnotised - first song off Kaleidoscope
Lyrics from the MV 'cause i'm bored: Been rusting in the rubble Running to a faint Need a brand new coat of paint I found myself in trouble Thinking 'bout what ain't Never gonna be a saint Saying, float like an eagle Fall like the rain Pouring to put out the pain Oh again and again Now i'm hyp, hypnotised Yeah I trip when I look in your eyes Oh i'm hyp, hypnotised Yeah I slip and i'm mesmerized Its easy to be lethal I'm learning from the news It's a guidebook for the blues Saying, it's the very same steeple People want to choose They just see it from different views And threading the needle Fixing my flame Oh now i'm moved to exclaim Oh again and again How i'm hyp, hypnotised Yeah i trip when i look in your eyes Oh i'm hyp, hypnotised Yeah I lift and i'm mesmerized (Jay!) Oh again and again Oh i'm hyp, hypnotised Yeah I lift to a permanent high Oh i'm hyp, hypnotised It was dark Now it's sunrise.

cool review Lenny. yeah, if I had a complaint it would be the lyrics. getting a bit old with the birds and whatnot. i've kinda made my peace with Chris not being a great lyricist at this point though.

Kaleidoscope EP
and what was the complaint with PM EP? oh, we've already heard LiJ and Lost, and postcards is instrumental and short, so its not really a lot of songs. and you literally took the longest EP they've put out and expected them to do it again when they've hit the 2-5 songs per EP range almost every other time. just sayin' you gotta be a bit more realistic, and more importantly, you gotta be more 'glass half full' if you get what i mean.

But I dont see the band digging up Miracles at this stage just to do an acoustic version. @The folks who are disappointed in 'only 5 songs', what did you expect? 10 songs? really?

Hypnotised - first song off Kaleidoscope
ive literally had it on repeat since i found out this morning. repeat on at work. repeat in the car for an hour. repeat on in the shower. but listening to it with my headphones is indescribable

im just happy that (mostly) everyone (oldplayers and newplayers) are happy with the song :) isn't it so much nicer when we all get along?!?!?!

Kaleidoscope EP
lol, they are NOT run by 2 ppl. and even if they were, thats besides the point. If they were fans like us, they would share it with their fellow fans.

incoming opinion: while Atlas project are pretty speedy when it comes to news, (which I appreciate) I do hate it when they do get some news and kinda dangle it in front of everyone in a 'nanny nanny boo boo' sort of way. Either tell us everything, or stfu.

^I can never remember or understand that. Which day do singles, albums get released and why? And how rigid is this rule?
-
Kaleidoscope EP
what makes you think that? because that was an instrumental-ish piece?

A Head Full Of Dreams is underrated or not?
IMO, its underrated, but still not very good. Hope that made sense, lol
-
Kaleidoscope EP
yeah, probably PM length. I just hope they're actually new songs. Not like LiT II, LiJ (remix) and Lost+.

Hmm PM EP Release: Nov 21/08 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prospekt's_March Nov 21/08 they also had a gig in Denver as well as 16 other gigs in the previous 30 days https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viva_la_Vida_Tour#Tour_dates so actually, they didn't release it before a tour, they did it during!

Kaleidoscope EP
hmmm, just thinking now (and also trying to bring the talk back to KEP), i dont think they'd release it too close to the next gig either (Mar 31). They'd probably want to release it with enough time for fans to "get used to" the new songs. So perhaps you are right Steph, maybe late Feb, early Mar!
