  1. You may be talking about Debs Wild, someone asked her about Shine On and she responded with a 🤐 emoji. Fans took her acknowledgement of the song's existence as confirmation that a release was imminent, but to be honest it probably meant nothing. Spotify also announced a Christmas edition of Moon Music, but that wound up being a playlist with Christmas Lights thrown in at the end. I don't think there's any serious evidence they were planning more Moon Music era releases following the Full Moon edition. My hunch is that the leftovers from Rainbow were scrapped, or they were never intended to come out in the first place. Teasing unreleased songs in artwork is a tradition that goes back to Viva la Vida. Famous Old Painters (which we only have because it leaked in full last year), Car Kids etc... Why not give Opus 5 and Sunshine the same treatment. But Chris did say to Zane Lowe Rainbow was a preview of what's coming next, whatever that means. As for future releases, they have an 11 night residency booked for 2027. They did a 10 show residency last month where each night had a section devoted to a different album, so it's safe to assume they're aiming for the musical to be out by 2027. By that point it will have been 3 years since Moon Music, the standard gap between Coldplay albums. I don't think the self titled will be released until after the completion of the MOTS tour. I don't think self titled will be toured either, it'll be their way of wrapping this whole era up.
  2. I doubt we're getting self titled before 2030 at this rate
  3. I'm happily pretending it doesn't exist Honestly I think they should just take the EL version of Weirdo, give the stems to the MOTS3 mixing team so it sounds consistent with the other tracks, and just release it that way.
  4. I just remembered Weirdo was set to be a part of the musical too. I have mixed feelings on this, the Everyday Life version is one of the best things they've done this decade imho, but I don't know if a Max Martin produced version could improve on it. During the MOTS era I was certain they'd ruin it, but a bunch of Moon Music was tastefully done so maybe it'll be ok. There's also Earthling; correct me if I'm wrong but that was never confirmed to be a part of the musical was it? It's entirely possible that's just been scrapped. It would be a shame though.
  5. This was being discussed on Reddit but I figured I'd bring it up here too as the users here a little more in the know What's the fate of the songs which make up the Rainbow? People were saying here they would definitely see a release eventually. There was speculation they'd be used on an EP, but it's been a year since MM and I doubt there's more from that era coming. Chris did say to Zane Lowe that Rainbow was a preview of the next thing they were doing, which I guess is the musical. So will the Rainbow songs all be a part of the musical? That could be the case, but the fact the full Angelsong has already been released makes me doubt it'll be reused. Man in the Moon and The Karate Kid aren't getting re-released either. There's also Shine On, which shares a bit in common with the new songs they've been soundchecking. So will all this be a part of the musical? Or has the entire bunch has been Car Kids'd? Knowing Coldplay I'm guessing the latter.
  6. Whilst I'm on this tangent, why the hell did Chris perform Shine On in the middle of Vegas if they weren't going to release it? This band man.
  7. Plans are probably a lot more flexible than Chris makes out. He might have originally intended MOTS3 to be called Home but maybe it's Stars now. Remember FFTF2024? I promise you that wasn't intended to be a bunch of Moon Music music videos when they first revealed it. But whatever it was meant to be didn't materialise, so they threw together a Moon Music film instead. Around that time he also said there would be an album a year until 2024 when they wrap it all up. Well it's near the end of 2025 now and we're still waiting on two albums.
  8. Long story short, we know about as much as Guy does
  9. The MOTS tour setlist is divided into 4 acts - Planets, Moons, Stars and Home. The theory is each act represents a different album. Planets is MOTS, and Moons is obviously Moon Music. Therefore vol 3 will be related to Stars somehow, and the self-titled will be a return home. This is contradicted by Chris telling a fan vol 3 will have the word Home in the title. This was back in 2022 I think.
  10. I feel like a better way to get unreleased material out and print money for themselves would be to start pumping out boxsets. They could do it after LP12 comes out as a way to keep the brand active. We already know AROBTTH was planned with leftover songs like Idiot. X&Y could come packaged with X&Y (Chris's Version). MX could come with Tomorrow and the unfinished Wedding Album, AHFOD could finally give Colors of the Soul a home, and of course Everyday Life would be stunning. It would be more satisfying that releasing one song per letter.
  11. I hope they include all the other versions of Higher Power
  12. Not if Eno comes back for one! Viva is Jonny's best work by the way. The fact he came up with the midsection of 42 by himself in an hour blows my mind (unless Chris lied about that but either way, props to Jonny).
  13. We’ll agree on that. Coldplay could learn a lot from 90s U2 right now
  14. He does it a lot on X&Y, true. AROBTTH has a lot more creative stuff going on, it sounds more uniquely Coldplay to my ears. I'd love to have that Jonny back. The U2ness is probably more noticeable post Viva as their music got a lot more poppy and stadium friendly in general.
  15. SCORCHING HOT TAKE ALERT - post Viva Jonny mimics The Edge a bit much for my liking, so I don't mind him not being featured as much
  16. Will there be 2020 versions of We Pray?
  17. If I was advising the band I'd tell them to release the musical soundtrack as LP11, and make the full musical production a post-album project like Alphabetica. The American Idiot musical didn't happen until 5 years after the album came out for instance.
  18. Apparently another version featuring Marife Yau is in the works
  19. Another new one https://old.reddit.com/r/Coldplay/comments/1k22ppg/coldplay_soundchecking_another_new_song_in_seoul/
  20. or it could get Shine On'd
  21. The Higher Power era came to an end once My Universe was released. They're continuing to release We Pray versions 6 months after Moon Music came out.
  22. You're missing the big story here A NEW VERSION OF WE PRAY IS OUT ON APRIL 18! 😀
  23. I love this version of Jupiter. The album version is still the best one but this one pulls off the pop quite well. Reminds me of MOTM
  24. That site's a mess, I have no idea what's downloadable and what's not I snagged Jupiter at least
  25. FOP’s entire session files leaked, has this happened with any other songs?
