1. Moon Music (Elodie) Just the piano bit from Moon Music. Nice enough but a bit pointless. 2. feelslikeimfallinginlive Don’t Care 3. The Karate Kid Far more beautiful than a song called The Karate Kid has any right to be. Excellent stuff. 4. We Pray (Be Our Guest) Don’t care. 5. Angelsong And just like that, my mix of Rainbow is almost 8 minutes long. Love it though. 6. Jupiter (Single Version) I THOUGHT WE WEREN’T GETTING ANY MORE SINGLES CHRIS. Anyway this is just the album mix without the outro. Kind of pointless. They could’ve included the electronic pop arrangement of Jupiter, or 2 Aliens. Missed opportunity. Cresent Moon edition perhaps? 7. Man in the Moon Glad this wasn’t on the album tbh, it’s a bit too cheesy. I’m really happy to have it though, it didn’t need to be leaked or anything. 8. I am a Mountain Piano version, sounds nice. More natural and Coldplayish than the album mix. I wanna do a mix of this which includes the other three though. 9. All My Love (Live in Dublin) Had this for ages. Nice to see it officially released though. 10. WHY THE EMOJI CHRIS WHY So glad this finally got an official release. The fact that Shine On remains unreleased even after this is baffling. They must have something planned with it, surely.

Has anyone listened to the notebook edition yet? I haven't seen any comments on it and it's not been shared in the usual places.

It's not so much that, I just can't imagine Parlophone being willing participants in Chris' "no more singles" idea.

It's such an earworm. Probably the catchiest melodies of the whole album.

I'm just gonna do a 3am brain vomit so feel free to scroll past this I've been thinking about what Chris has been saying recently, about how everything will make sense once the 12 album discography is completed. How Moon Music isn't overly commercial outside of a handful of songs, how it wasn't promoted that much, and how the final two albums won't have any singles (of course, whether Parlophone will go along with Chris' promotional vision is another question). MOTS was despised by the fanbase pretty much from the get-go because of what it represented. The quick abandonment of the EL era. The fifty kazillion remixes, music videos and live performances of Higher Power. The blatant pandering to a mass audience by hooking up with BTS. The fact Max Martin has a production and co-writing credit for everything. And of course, the supermassive colourful world tour which has continued to this day. But then I think back to the 12 album plan, which Chris claims to have had in his head all along. So I wonder, perhaps having an album as blatantly commercial as MOTS was always a part of the plan. Because like it or not, Coldplay have a pretty sizeable audience who only care for the more basic pop stuff. And they wanted to give them one final gift before they go, along with having an excuse to have one final supermassive world tour. It's the farewell album for the fair-weather fans. I know they're going to keep playing live, but the MOTS tour is one of the highest grossing of all time. They're not going to beat that without a new record to promote. It reminds me of Queen's Magic tour, although under far less tragic circumstances. MOTS happened because, secretly, the band felt it was their last opportunity to make a record and tour like that. And for as much as Everyday Life is the greater artistic triumph, the MOTS tour would be a lot more fun to take part in. With that in mind, it makes me hate MOTS less, knowing it was the band getting all that pop stuff out of their system before the final stages of their recording career. Of course this could be totally wrong, and LP11 could be a garish Max Martin jackhammer of rainbows and guest stars. But given how 🌈 was intended as a preview, and how no singles are planned, it feels different this time.

Added the unreleased songs that make up 🌈 as Chris said it was a “preview of what’s yet to come” although what that means in practical terms remains vague. I’m uncertain if 2 Aliens has a future as it’s technically a part of Jupiter now, but I’ll leave it on the list for the time being.

I kiiiiiind of get it. I think the album is fantastic but I've also had my expectations lowered by MX, AHFOD and MOTS. I just imagine if songs like We Pray, feelslikeimfallinginlove or Good Feelings came out right after Viva, I'd be horrified. I'd probably even be disappointed by songs like iAAM or All My Love if I was comparing them to Death and All His Friends or Strawberry Swing or whatever.

Ah, found out what Will said. “we have a little bonus record coming out soon and one of the tracks on it is a version of We Pray where you can write your own verse.” Based on that I doubt this little bonus record contains anything we haven't heard before.

The Voice Memo disc from the Notebook edition? That was the first thing that came to mind.
