I promise you Chris deals with worse on a daily basis. You don't spend 20 years as one of the most famous men in the world without knowing how to deal with random people saying weird stuff about you. People have been using the Benjamin Button line on him for at least a decade. There's no way he's not aware of it. So yeah I would call him that to his face, and if he's anything like the Chris I love he'd have a hilarious reply ready to go. I'd probably use it as an excuse to go on about my newborn anyway, hopefully he'd find him cute.

A lot of people have called Chris Martin the Benjamin Button of lyrics. I don't know about that, but I do know this. My son has been alive for three days and he only knows one word. La.

Pitchfork have had this really weird system over the past decade where the collective staff will vote on a score, then get an individual writer to do the review. So often the reviews and scores don't match up at all. Case in point with Moon Music.

The Pitchfork review was really good actually. I was quite surprised how generous they were, given Pitchfork aren't exactly known for being super kind. 6/10 might not seem like a great score but if you consider how they rated the other Coldplay albums, it's above average.

I suspect I'll forever have a bias with Moon Music. My heavily pregnant wife and I went to the cinema for the listening event, knowing it would be our final date together alone as a couple before we brought a kid into the world. Listening to the songs made her quite emotional, Jupiter and All My Love especially. So no matter what anyone says I'll always have that memory. In contrast, the first time we listened to MOTS together she burst out laughing at My Universe and said "this shit sounds like Nikki Webster!"

I added up the average track ratings I gave on RYM and it resulted in 4.5/5 which is way higher than I was expecting. In context I gave MOTS a 3 (which was quite generous tbh but I'm fully Coldplaypilled at this point)

Speaking of duplicate song titles, it could be Luna (and not Lhuna). The moon shines with the light of the sun, the bridge is Shine On, it's a reach but it makes as much sense as anything else.

FLIFIL pt. 2 is the hidden track after Aeterna. I might be wrong but I think the three Moon Musics are the one track separated, part 1 being Forever Held, part 2 being Elodie and part 3 being the bit with vocals.

Only three are unreleased now. Aiko, Luna, and I guess MUSIC? (is that even a part of 🌈 anymore I can’t tell) One of em has to be the real title of Shine On, right? It’s possible Karate Kid was renamed as well (it’s the only released MM era song not up there) edit - Karate Kid is on the black box alongside 2 Aliens. How on earth did you spot that?

For those wondering about missing songs, I'm working on a Pop Spheres mix too. But I'm gonna hold off on posting it until we have Shine On (and hopefully 2 Aliens in good quality, if they ever release that, plus any other potential songs we might not know about yet)

For those who are interested, I did an Indie Blasphemy mix of MOTS/MM (you may remember I did The Wedding Album on YouTube among other things before they were nuked by Warner, and the recent iAAM mix of course). https://untitled.stream/library/project/l4noL24eH0PaL2qUtFx2g 1. Infinity Sign (5.16) - Used a slowed down version of MOTS1 (aka 🪐) as the intro. Slowed down the main song slightly, removed the "ole" chant but kept in the choir at the end. 2. Earthling (5.11) - Slowed down the demo so Chris is singing at normal pitch, incorporated Alien Choir (aka ✨) as the outro. 3. Rainbow (7.52) - extended the heavy bit of Neon Forest so it repeats twice, used the full version of Angelsong + minor mixing changes. 4. One World (4.57) - removed Orange and the birdsong bits, made minor mixing changes. 5. All My Love (3.43) - remixed it to sound more gentle and subtle. 6. Coloratura (13.45) - used the Moon Music title track as an intro, thereby making it even proggier than it was before. 7. A Wave (3.20) - extended it by using the intro from the demo version + minor mixing changes. Total length: 44.02

I assumed this would be released alongside Moon Music (it was in the digital tracklist) but apparently not. We know a lyric video for feelslikeimfallinginlove is probably a part of it, alongside a clip for One World. The numberplate said FFTF2024, and Phil confirmed it was still happening this year, which gives them about two and a half months to release it.

We know it's not on Moon Music, nor is it on the Full Moon edition. But it's clearly something they intended to release at some point, right? On top of Guy's stage bass, lyrics from the song are written on Chris' stage piano. I wonder if there's still a plan to release it or if it's scrapped for good. Someone asked Debs and she responded with an emoji, so who knows that that means. Speculate baselessly in here.

Hopefully an instrumental version comes out soon. Really interested to hear the intricacies of these arrangements

Both Sunshine and Opus 5 have features, which makes me think they're real full length songs. Wasn't MUSIC supposed to be a part of 🌈? And now it's not but it kind of is? Who knows with this lot.
