Andy Gill (Independent): 'Why I hate Coldplay'
As far as the comments about the lyrics go, and Fix You in particular, I don't agree with him at all. Chris wrote it for Gwyneth after her Dad died, and I think it's a song a lot of people, me included, can relate to. Is there anybody out there who is lost and hurt and lonely, too?" and "Are you lost or incomplete... can't find your missing piece?", lines feeding off the soul-carrion of the insecure and lonely while offering no solutions. I don't particularly want solutions, and I think it's naive to think that singers and bands should be responsible for giving answers all the time. Sometimes you just want to hear that someone feels the same way you do, that in itself is just as comforting as somebody giving me answers.

XFM X-Posure Album Playback
When Chris said that being in a band can lead to divorce I thought, "Bloody hell what did he say that for!"but thankfully Guy started laughing and found the funny side of it.

My concerns with Guy and Will
The banter between them (excluding Will as he was at home looking after the kids!) in the last few radio shows has been amazing. It was great hearing Guy talk so much, and Chris always asking, "What do you think Guy?" They seem so much more relaxed than ever.

Do NOT lead into Temptation!
I managed to listen to the Q Radio show, Ben Jones and the XFM Playback without actually hearing any of the songs, whilst making sure I heard the interview parts and recording them all too. That's Coldstainer dedication baby.

Song Meaning
You're correct, 2000 Miles is actually a Christmas song, originally recorded by The Pretenders (I think...)

They were asked what song they are each most proud of, and Guy said Crest Of Waves, mentioning that he tried really hard to get it on AROBTTH but the others wouldn't listen, to which Jonny beautifully delivered the greatest line ever: "Stop banging on about it Guy!" :D For some reason that has made my day, week, year, life!

Noooo, someone asked for more info about the unreleased tracks but Ben asked another question before they got a chance to talk about them. AND: Jonny: "Stop banging on about it Guy" - hahaha, best quote ever :D

What's So Great About Coldplay, Anyway?
They're incredibly nice guys. That's one of the main reasons why I like Coldplay so much.

I think so yes - I remember someone asking him if they named the song after McEwan's book, but they didn't. Saturday is great also. In fact I don't think you can go wrong with any of his books! Enduring Love is great. I love how he writes about what the weather's like or what someone's eating, then he suddenly drops a bombshell like, "so and so killed someone". I think in all my years posting on this forum, that is the most off-topic I have ever gone.

I asked Will if he's read any other Ian McEwan books, as I remember him saying he read Amsterdam a few years ago, and if so which is his favourite :D I asked Guy what new toys he picked up while they were recording the album and if there's any geeky/technology stories he wants to share - I doubt that will get asked though lol. Question for all of them: Is there a particular song they heard when they were children that made each of them want to learn the instruments they play in the band.

Coldplay Jukebox Virgin Radio June 8th: COUNTDOWN COMPLETE
I heard that also, he played that before another song I think as well. Probably a clip of the interview from 2005 for X&Y. Very funny :P :P
