  1. I emailed google (several days ago) asking them to restore our webpage, but still no word back from them. One can only assume that they've been busy eating Christmas leftovers and returning unwanted gifts. :P I'll be persistent and email again if I don't get a response by the end of tomorrow. Such a shame that it was disabled! We haven't violated any of google's terms of conditions, so there shouldn't be a problem. I'll let you all know when it's back up and running so we can donate to Save the Children.
  2. ACK! You're right, Tina - it has been disabled. :veryangry::veryangry: I'm not sure what the problem is, but I'll email google pages and look into it. Thank you so much letting me know!
  3. Are you sure you still have all your fingers and toes? heh I like his little tooth sticking out in that photo. Definitely looks like a cat with personality! :laugh3: Cool photos everyone. Lore - I just can never imagine Christmas in summer! Poor Santa must be melting in that suit. yellowtalk - good costume (even though, admittedly, there's not much to it....but you pull it off well). All that's missing is sidekick Jonny. ;)
  4. Oh yes, I agree - the Tolkien/LOTR forums were really some of the best. Sadly, active membership seems to have waned on RB and TORn in the past few years. I expect a revival soon. :) (Erin, what was your username way back then...? Maybe we crossed paths. :nice:) ...and *ahem* shoes. lol, noticed that did ya? :P I couldn't resist! Especially considering that on Nov 20th, 2006 I posted an article on Facebook saying how PJ and team had definitely backed out of the project and that there was little to NO way that they'd ever have any hand in making The Hobbit. Ha! (btw Tracie, George is so cute! ;) <-- facebooker insider knowledge! :sneaky:)
  5. Official movie blog for The Hobbit: http://www.thehobbitblog.com/ :D:D:D
  6. This is the best news I've had all year!!!! (well, next to my adviser saying 'you've got all your credits and you can graduate') Funnily enough, I was just talking about this with my Mom this morning (literally)...about how we'd refuse to watch The Hobbit if it was produced by anyone besides PJ. Favorite books. And lotr are definitely on my favorite films list. So very, very excited (all over again!) Thanks so much for posting the news, Erin. It's the coolest Christmas present ever. :D :sneaky: Time to revive my account on theonering.net and ringbearer.org (my home long before coldplaying :P)

I've heard of them Eric, but I only have one song of theirs - Run Into Flowers. (Actually, I have the whole single with all the remixes) Is it typical of most of their music?
  8. We have a 'report button' too...its the thumbs-down icon on the left, under the user avi/info. ......What a handy piece of information! You should thank me for it! :laugh3: hah
  9. Humm, I like it! (Even if those "The Following User Says Thank You to ___ For This Useful Post" messages kind of clutter up the page). Not as cool as the bling, but its nice to be able to show your appreciation for good posts. Now...the question is...who will get the most 'thank yous'? Btw, I'm in a sneaky mood. Now you all know. :sneaky:

  11. I kneeew you'd all like it. I know, I really need to stop.
  12. Julia, what if you tell your professor well ahead of time that you'll be gone on the 8th of July, and that you'd like to take the exam earlier. If you arrange it so far in advance, maybe they can work something out? Go on! Get that ticket! :sneaky:
  13. Welcome, Eric. :nice: Merry Christmas. lol
  14. Hark! Did I hear that someone wanted a new avatar? KAZAAM! I'm the Avatar Stanta Claus. Ho, Ho, Ho.
  15. hahahaaaa. Puns perturb Picard. Say that 3x fast.
  16. I'm not sure I want to know (why Spammy is interested in Beckham's lunchbox). I opened this thread expecting to find a photoshopped photo of Matt B. with a Santa hat on. Oh, my innocent mind. :laugh4:
  17. ..........except that neither Oxford or Cambridge are in London. :dozey:
  18. hahah, thanks. No one ever says it right. Or-uh(fast!)-gen(g as in grape). This fellow seems somewhat amusing...perhaps. I'll watch the full thing later.
  19. ^ Yes, indeedy. :D I can't find the Oregon reference on that site, but I'll take your word for it. ;)
  20. Why thank you! :nice: You too, Briggs. lol Having Thom Yorke come down my chimney would practically the next best thing to Santa. :santa:
  21. :freak: That sums up what I wanted to "say" in this thread.
  22. Yeah, they are tough questions and I'm just as clueless about what the 'right' solutions are as well. Very good discussion topic though that begs to be debated. I have more to say, but I'll hold off for tonight. :P
  23. I do agree with you somewhat. It's not a problem of production, it's a problem of politics. But overpopulation is defined not just by population count, but by the ability for a population to live off their given environment. If there aren't enough resources available to them (through a lack of distribution or otherwise), they are considered overpopulated. By this definition, with the world's current infrastructure, it is overpopulated. It's just a matter of terminology, but it think it's worth mentioning here since a lot of people say that overpopulation is a nonissue. (Which I don't understand - just look at the massive effects it's having on the planet: loss of habitat, plant and animal extinctions, deforestation and desertification, etc) One more thing to add: if you want to call overpopulation by another name, in addition to "poor distribution," we can call it call it a "problem of entitlement." Like you said, the wealthy (read: western, developed, first world nations) are taking more than their fair share. But to make resource allotment more equitable, how much will the governments need to get involved? Will measures such as this 3rd child tax in Australia be what's needed? How can we stigmatize those who take beyond what's fair? Humm.
  24. CUTE!!! :nice::nice: That mouse has a huge 'awww' factor. I bet he'd take your finger off if he got the chance though. lol
