Hosting mp3's is a pain as most webhosts that are free have a file limit (which rules out most mp3's) and they all have a maximum file space limit which is often low too (less than a full concert per acct). Many webhosts can sense what type of file is on your site and will massively decrease downloading speed for mp3's being downloaded by all the people who try to go on your site. Plus bandwidth limits can also mean 1 or 2 people downloading a whole show will turn off your site a few hours and overuse your bandwidth. And then of course you need to upload the entire show in the first place after your download and learn to use an ftp program. This of course will be only possible if you have broadband in the first place. *whew* :( so is it worth it? depends if you are web experienced or not i guess. I have experience with this stuff and I'm still not sure I'D even give it a try. Thats why i trade shows via mail. I get more shows, i get them in superior format (mp3 are nice but full CD-quality are much better, and they are cheaper and less time consuming in the long run. If you are still interested I'd send an email to any of the current mp3 site owners and get some advice. Personal web accts are the easiest and most flexible but you are making yourself even more liable if the music label tries to shut you down. :shrug:

I saw them during their small gig tour before the bigger 2002 tour. Audience of 500 and i was on a riser on the side and about 10 ft away from Chris and at eye level. Between the release of that album and that show right before it I am the coldplay fanatic that i am today. Saw them in 2001 too at a bigger (though not huge) venue and thought they were great then too. Of course this last soldout show in February i was in GA and was second row center so even if they get bigger there are ways of still getting good seats. Now Red Rocks GA should be an interesting challenge this summer!! :twisted:

Well when I one the Coldplay soundcheck contest and they were taking requests i asked them if they could play the Cure's A Forest (which Chris loves and has played on cd when guesting on at least 2 radio shows). Unfortunately (and probably wisely) they said no as they hadn't probably rehearsed it ever before. Still maybe some day......... :shrug:

I think I am being constructive and i never said that you HAD to be a Coldplay fan, but you were the one who WAS on a COLDPLAY msgboard purposely starting a fight to see if we could back it up. If you don't want a bloody nose don't throw the first punch. :P As for Radiohead, Oasis, and U2 they are all great bands and they are some of my favorites. But they aren't without flaws in their careers. To come out and critique Coldplay when they are on only on a second album and compare them against much older bands is unfair. If you want come back in 5 years and we'll see who's right then. I'm putting my faith in Coldplay. And just FYI .....I DONT go to other band's msgboards and start saying how much Coldplay is better than them. Its not my job as a fan to go out and convert other with different tastes. :D

AROBTTH is a disappointment? :o You must be kidding! Maybe to a few critics but most thought it was one of the top albums of the year and many said it will be in the Top 100 of all-time for awhile (its in many of those list already) Yes Oasis had TWO great initial albums. Now as for the rest................ :shrug: If you want to get me started on Oasis improvements just ask!! :P A great band but they've been retreading for years. Their last album was on critics most disappointing of the year lists. Its like if U2 had put out 3 albums of the calibre of Pop or Zooropa or Rattle & Hum in a row instead of recovering with albums like Achtung Baby and All That You Can't Leave Behind. I can understand a band faltering with one album but not 3 in a row. They aren't TERRIBLE but they aren't CLASSICS. :shrug: Ps I'm 31, so I do remember the 80's and the 90's. So if you want I can even say that Coldplay might be the next Police if you want. They were just as good too! :P Just because they are young and only have two albums to their name don't think that they won't become the next big name in rock music. :D

How about this.....true Radiohead fans seem all like arrogant bastards. I like Radiohead alright but every Radiohead-fanatic is always insulting Coldplay in some fashion at the same time they are hanging out on THEIR board. If you think Coldplay sucks DONT hang out here, if you like Radiohead HANG out on that pathetic official msgboard they have. :-x Are Coldplay going to put out a dark and strange album that will piss off part of their fans? Well yes and no.......... Yes---- in that AROBTTH is not an acoustic driven or mellow album like Parachutes. It also not the optimistic album that Parachutes is, it is more mature and is about loss, doubt, love, faith, and politics. It is much more of an anthem album than its freshmen debut. Parchutes is still a great album and stands on its two feet well (and is probably better than Pablo Honey :D ) No---- in that they won't dump their guitars and take up keyboards and drum machines. They won't alienate their fans with an album like Kid A which killed all chances of video and radioplay since. They won't put out lyrics which are bordering on undecipherable. And they won't make outright dark and gloomy albums and stop playing their classics live in concert. They also won't refuse to do interviews, retreat from the spotlight, and put up a wall between themselves and their fans. In case you didn't get the memo, Coldplay stopped being named the next Radiohead along time ago. They will probably be the next U2 or the Beatles if anything. ;) But they will do it their way and with their fans. Using the Radiohead yardstick to measure up other bands is rather crap. Sure they are good but Coldplay will probably be bigger than them anyway. After all they ARE on their second album, AND each has done incredibly well. I'm quite happy with my band and with the fact that just about every song is classic, that i CAN like it on first hearing, and that it DOES hold up on multiple listenings. Plus they are fantastic live and put on a much more interactive show than any Radiohead recording i've ever heard of. So lets stop the Radiohead comparisons here as they are TWO seperate bands and they are very different from each other. You might like Radiohead better, which is fine....CONGRATULATIONS!! :roll: I on the other hand will always like coldplay better, which is why i hang out here or on the main CP msgboard, instead of the Radiohead msgboard (which DOES suck anyway) :lol:
