  1. White Shadows is my favorite song from X&Y... but I can't vote against We Never Change Yellow
  2. Hmm... Looking back at the bracket, I'm wondering how you chose the songs. Careful Where You Stand and Murder, for example, weren't included but plenty of other b-sides (even 40 second, live instrumentals) were.
  3. Trouble Violet Hill
  4. Politik Shiver
  5. Lovers in Japan Life in Technicolor
  6. GPASUYF (This can't lose to Green Eyes... :() In My Place
  7. Clocks Don't Panic
  8. It's definitely DANCER. I guess I'll post this again since no one seems to have noticed: Amazon.com: Day & Age: The Killers: Music Amazon.com: Day & Age: The Killers: Music Those familiar with the band's oeuvre will recognize their signature in the synth-heavy "Human," four minutes of sweeping, epic rock, on which Flowers sings: "My sign is vital/ My hands are cold/ And I'm on knees, looking for the answer/ Are we human, or are we dancer?" He says the lyrics were inspired by a disparaging comment made by Hunter S. Thompson about how America was raising a generation of dancers. But the song also had some help from album producer Stuart Price (aka Jacques LuCont), known for his work with Madonna and Missy Elliot, and who'd previously remixed "Mr. Brightside." "He was the icing on the cake," says Stoermer. Also here: http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1598299/20081030/killers_the.jhtml So when MTV News caught up with Flowers last week at the Killers' NYC show, we decided to ask him about the chorus controversy. "It's taken from a quote by [author Hunter S.] Thompson. ... 'We're raising a generation of dancers,' and I took it and ran. I guess it bothers people that it's not grammatically correct, but I think I'm allowed to do whatever I want," he laughed. " 'Denser'? I hadn't heard that one. I don't like 'denser.' " So, there you go. It's "dancer," and don't you forget it.
  9. 42 AROBTTH Two nearly impossible choices.... I seem to find myself saying that a lot during this game.
  10. Yes Glass of Water
  11. We Never Change White Shadows Finally some easy picks. :p
  12. 13 people away from breaking the record set last night... This is indeed bizarre.
  13. Violet Hill Viva la Vida
  14. The acoustic version has been out for months. I'm sure you can find it in multimedia.
  15. Oh, it looks really good.... For those of you that haven't seen it, just search Lovers in Japan in itunes. Then click on the music video result. Then click preview. Voila! Edit: Or just use the link above. :p
  16. Talk The Scientist RIP Square One :(
  17. Speed of Sound (by the tiniest amount) Square One

"He was the icing on the cake," says Stoermer. "We had just put 'Human' together, and we wound up shooting over to his house after dinner [in London]," Flowers recalls of his first time in the studio with Price. "A few hours later, we had something very close to what you hear now. I was on cloud nine." He continues: "When we walked into his flat, the first thing I saw was picture of the cover of The Man Who Sold the World, and further down the stairs there was a picture of Eno in his Roxy Music days. I just kind of felt that we'd found our man."
  19. Shiver (barely) Sparks (even barely-er :P)
  20. Wow... I'm surprised Parachutes beat Only Superstition. I guess it's going to be tough for a b-side/ep track to win.
  21. Lovers In Japan Moses Both tough choices, believe it or not.
  22. Best tracks: Public Speeding Never Changing A Spy's Prayer The Reverse Fix What if We Cry? X-Y-Z Honorable Mentions: Hola Blanco Take the Hill Some of the songs don't flow so well from one to another, but overall it's pretty damn good considering they worked with pre-existing tracks. (It's probably worth noting, though, that the professional collaboration Beach Chair is the best thing on here.) Anyway, VLH will make a good driving album if nothing else.
  23. Life in Technicolor Life Is for Living
  24. Hmm. I can't download it for some reason.... I think illroots is down. There's already a relatively quick torrent available, though, for those of you having the same problem.
