  1. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. My eyes hurt from straining to try and catch a glimpse of familiar cards. :P
  2. I'm in Conway, actually, but at Hendrix. I checked the general sale tickets. They're worse. Glad I didn't wait.
  3. It's a possibility. I'm afraid, though, that the lower levels have all gone to ticket re-salers. I just checked stub-hub and they have a ton of seats in the lower level for $700+. Even row Y, the tickets I got, are $400ish. I've pretty much conceded the fact that unless I'm selected for a ticket upgrade or am able to see Coldplay at a festival, I'll never get in the first set of seats.
  4. Which did you get? I tried both the radio and ticketrush presale right at 10am, and I never got an option in the lower sections. After trying about thirty times, I settled for row two of the upper middle section. Since it's a pretty small venue, that's still very good, but not quite as good as I was hoping.
  5. For those that have bought online in the past: Have you found it more advantageous to buy via presale or to wait for the general sale? I know all the tickets aren't available during a presale, so I suppose the best thing to do might be to try for the presale, and then if unsatisfied with the selection wait for the general sale?
  6. Bump. This is a question worth answering. There are several shows like that. Anyone encountered this before?
  7. Bump.... They were $59-$99 last year, but I'd like to know if it'll be more this time around.
  8. Bit of a letdown for me... (pun intended.) I think I was hoping for too much.

  10. Al Green is supposedly taking over for one of them. http://hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2009/02/rihanna-cancels.html http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20257693,00.html

    U.S. summer tour dates?! *prays*
  12. Good to see some appreciation for Lindsey. That album is stunning.
  13. House of Cards is the most logical option, but I'm hoping for something a bit wilder. Also, in regards to that discussion a few posts ago, House of Cards and Creep are the only Radiohead songs I've ever heard on American radio.
  14. Jetstream is really nice. The new additions to their sound seem subtle but effective.
  15. I happen to agree that AROBTTH is Coldplay's best work, but, for me, songs like Violet Hill and Viva la Vida are still very much about love and loss of the most personal forms.
  16. Yes, great picture choice! (There's also a nice little article with the LiTii video on Pitchfork.) Anyway, I don't know what the boys are up to, but I'm getting excited.
  17. Reminds me of Tusk-era Fleetwood Mac... which is brilliant! :D
  18. Also my birthday! :D
  19. 7 Speed of Sound got me into Coldplay, although it was a whole mix of songs that made me "fall for" them.
  20. Yeah, coming here with a giant "Viva la Fraude" banner promotes intelligent, reasoned discussion.
  21. I really think those quotes are a bit of an overstatement. Music has not gotten to the point at which the public refuses to buy albums. I can't really think of any band that actually operates in this way: releases three-four singles per year without an album to back it up. In the future, maybe. But it definitely hasn't happened yet. Perhaps there are bands that concentrate on a few singles and then record shit to fill out the album, but those bands are still releasing albums. Initial hype comes from the release of an album. So, to answer the question, I expect (and want) Coldplay to continue making the usual 40-50 minute album every few years.
  22. Why does everyone here hate Lil' Wayne? The kind of smear that gets thrown around when publications make "Best of" lists reminds me of the public outcry over Jay-Z at Glastonbury... which Chris Martin hated, by the way.
