  1. People will start staking their spot right after the gates open, but it's usually not that many. Crowd will grow throughout the day by the main stages (it's a loooooong day). I've had a few really nice weather days at Lolla; I've had a slew of 90+ humid days there. Dress for hot and make sure you're fed and hydrated. If you choose to walk the grounds, there are cooling tents, cooling buses, food and drink tents, etc..., so those option are there for you. Pull up some ground maps from 2010 or 2009 (when they expanded the grounds), so you can get an idea of the layout. Ill be there, so if you go, Ill definitely give a 'hello'.
  2. Probably real, but considering it's getting worldwide airplay, there should be a number of them popping up in the coming weeks. $113 (US) with a day left? I think that's too much, myself.
  3. I didn't start collecting Viva until really really late in the game, so am still playing catch-up, while seeking older goodies. Think you passed me an excel some time ago that I used religiously, and may have marked all my "needs" from. Very very useful.
  4. Yeah, there's an article in TV Guide about it. Basically CBS is owning up to f*^king up the show, and signed everyone back. Only waiting on Hotch's contract for next season, otherwise everyone is signed.
  5. Don't care about number of pieces! :-) I want to see the stuff I still need! You two have quite a number of things that I'm sure I still need to look for!!! I'm sure of this! :-)
  6. Seaver is going far far far away. And I'm thankful for that. I found her character painful to watch. She was either horribly ignorant, or suddenly and inexplicably way too knowledgable for a newbie. I can't wait for next season when Seaver exits and Prentiss returns.
  7. Hey, try here: http://www.bwgrantparkhotel.com/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=places&utm_campaign=google_places_ms Best Western on S Michigan (not far at all). A friend just booked there two days ago, supposed to have a few rooms left.
  8. Hey, I've been to all but one Lolla at Grant Park. It's pretty cool. At least in past years, you initially need to enter through the main entrance (head toward the lake and follow the crowds). Here's where you'd swap your printpass ticket for your 3-day wristband or your one-day entry. This is the first year you could receive your wristband in advance. They opened another entrance point further north two years ago, but I'm not sure if its just for wristband entry. Earlier the better; the lines can get long (never too terrible, tho). Once inside, there are usually volunteers running about handing out maps and programs for the event. There's also a Lollapalooza app (which is super handy). Walk about and check out the grounds, then plan when you want to be at any stage. Definitely read the rules on what is allowed on the grounds (theyll check through your backpack, purse, etc...). Not a bad idea to bring some Kleenex or a wad of TP (the port-o-potties will run out), and dress as though you'll be outside in the heat with a lot of sweaty beer-drinking-and-spilling, but generally jovial people. Oh, and make sure you eat; there's always great food on site.
  9. Did they have a room for you?? (fingers crossed)
  10. I'm phenomenally curious to see your listing, axe! And I'd be most interested to see an update to yours doritji! I used the one you sent me months ago to search out several missings, still searching for some.
  11. Try the Travelodge on Harrison? It's close, I was able to get a room late last year.

You will never know if you don't try. The worst case scenario? You don't make it, but at least you'll never regret not trying! Go for it!
  13. I've always printed at home. This is the first year theyve offered the ability to have your wristband sent with the tickets. I went that way to avoid the lines, but it's really not that big a deal if you get there early,
  14. Check GEMM, musicstack.com and netsoundsmusic.com before eBay. You'll find music sellers, not people that strip the vinyl box set to sell individuals. If using eBay, make the seller send you the serial number and UPC info before buying.
  15. Finally have a decent spreadsheet update. CP releases are on the first page, if interested. This is an .xls document uploaded to mobile me; shouldn't be password protected. https://files.me.com/mail_debaser/v7z5ky
  16. Don't think anyone should be forced for fear of financial retribution, but also don't believe tax payers should be responsible for footing the bill of welfare/Medicare/medicaid recipients who actively ignore their weight problems. Sometimes, the tax payers are also providing financial means for the subject to complicate the problem (food stamps should not cover a cartload of Tortinos Pizza Rolls and Mointain Dew - yes, I have seen this one in person). Considering obesity is becoming a health epidemic here, I also think it's idiotic to continue raising sin taxes on cigarettes and alcohol, while blatantly ignoring the fat/processed food cash cows. I work a nasty schedule, but have the fortune of constant activity at my job. I also make it a point to eat decently and limit my fast food intake. It takes initiative and persistence, but it can be done. Fines are degrading, but intervention of some sort is needed.
  17. Axe, did you have problems with prospekts cds? He was a conpletist collector that decided to sell off his stuff. Did a few transaction with him with no issue. Anything I can help try to resolve?

If you get an itchy, super sneezy, runny nose along with itchy watery eyes, I highly recommend Clarinex 24-hr with a side of Nasonex (as needed). Both are prescribed, but clear me up within minutes, even if my attack is pretty severe. I'm non-allergenic rhinitis, which means I'm not allergic to anything, but anything (including weather) can set me off. That's a whole slew of potentials, and the clarinex and Nasonex keep my sane.
  19. I've stayed there a few times for Lolla. Congress is old, nothing fancy, but definitely not scary and VERY close to Grant Park. I prefer it to the Travelodge, and it's a whole lot cheaper than the Hilton. Definitely recommend checking in as soon as they allow. Waiting in the lines will suck, but it only gets worse if you wait.
  20. I'm always amazed at the people that have the patience to wait. It's cool to be that close, but I'd go nuts just thinking of all the bands I'm missing!
  21. I was half hoping CP would be there, then (for the sake of my finances) praying they wouldn't. Well, there went $1000 in the span of five minutes. If anyone is unaware, hotels in the area fill up fast (few are already sold out). If you'd like to be closer to Grant Park, start booking now. Looks like rates have raised again since last year (think I saw Travelodge wanted over $700 for 2 nights or it could've been Best Western). Congress Plaza is still under $200/night.
  22. Go for it. I regret not doing it when I was younger. You'll be a-ok, and it sounds like a great opportunity for you!
  23. Have a friend that works in the Los Angeles district. She does a lot more than scan out books and sit on her ass.
  24. Personally have had no issues with Vista. Parents have an all-in-one Mac that they paid too much for. Four years later, it's OS is outdated, but they cannot move to Leopard, because they don't have enough memory. The entire thing is tapped, and it's slower than blue hair drivers in south Florida. They cannot update the wreck known as Safari, iTunes, or any other apple related program. Sooo, they're hoping to pay a couple hundred dollars to Apple to upgrade it, but I've heard they' may be told they will need purchase a new one. Either way, my $1100 HP with the evil evil Vista is performing just fine.
  25. If it's the one posted for $10 shipping, might want to consider offering a cheaper option (like media mail if that's available). When I'm hunting for stuff and I see high rates, it's a big turn off. Just a suggestion.
