  1. If you and I were in the same room, we could play all day without the subscription, but otherwise yes. What I enjoy, is you and I could play together, even tho I'm in the US and you Austrailia. If you make your character run left, on my screen here, I'll see your player run left. Or in RB, if Im playing drums, you see my character playing drums on your end. Im not a huge gamer, but I've found a lot of games much more enjoyable playing with all sorts of people all over the world. You can play with a friend, or opt to play with anyone else around the world that wants to play with someone else at that time.
  2. Not really, you pay more to play and chat with your friends online. if you and I had the same game... Madden, Rockband, Modern Warfare, etc... We can 'friend' each other, and play that game simultaneously with each other, and talk during, if we'd like (handy during some games). It's actually pretty cool. Makes it more fun.

Write lefty, pitch lefty, bat righty, sometimes eat (use utensils) righty.
  4. Found this on Yahoo! "When you make a new Xbox Live account and do not sign up for Gold right away, Microsoft gives you one free month of Gold as opposed to the silver membership you would have. After the free one month is over you are automatically reverted back to your Silver membership and CANNOT play online multiplayer games." I've been live for a couple years, don't see anything with codes to give to friends, OTW I'd help you out. If you use stolen codes, supposedly they'll ban you. No idea if that's true tho.
  5. Slow cooker lemon garlic chicken. I can only cook with the crock pot, but comes out well! :-)
  6. Years ago, wanted to be a professional photographer. Earned class scholarships in high school, five years of college, graduated with a BA in professional photography. Was earning a good living in financial fraud investigations by graduation, so actually wound up going the law enforcement route. Quite happy most days. Here's the weird part; a few years ago my mom found a picture I drew when I was 4. Said I wanted to be a police woman when I grew up, accompanied by a rather sad drawing of a copper. So all-in-all, guess I ultimately listened to my 4-yr old self!
  7. I'd pay. I'd also pay not to sit next to a screaming child at a restaurant.
  8. I'm so torn on these bans. As a smoker, I know it's a nasty habit, and I really do enjoy concerts and restaurants more since the ban took effect here. But it's starting to get ridiculous. Cities count on their sin taxes, but the people paying those taxes are more and more restricted in the use of the heavily taxed product. Guess it's a good thing; should quit anyway and keep my money, right?
  9. It would be a little slice of heaven not to endure a screaming brat that has to f*%k with the tray every time I fly.
  10. They're cool, but pretty ugly.
  11. I couldn't care less. If we all held the same opinions, life would be pretty boring. If someone wants to rack on a band I like, its his/her prerogative, just like it's mine to listen or walk away.
  12. I think it's apparent they would be quite offended had you not accepted payment. Although the family is having a tough go, your services were appreciated and that made it a priority to compensate you. I know its easier to say than do, but don't be so hard on yourself. It obviously meant a lot to the family to pay you that money. Put it into savings. If you see someone else in need, it'll be there. But there really isn't anything wring with spending it on something you or your family need.
  13. Haha! Come to Chicago! We've been getting thundersnow over the last hour!
  14. I'd guess nitehawk, but haven't seen him here in a long while.
  15. Kind off. Think it's in the fourth season now. Basically a spy is blacklisted and dumped in Miami. While trying to figure out who "burned" him, he uses his bad-ass skills to help people in need. A lot of laughs, a lot of action, etc... If you really like Human Target, definitely check it out.
  16. Show's pretty good, but I think Burn Notice is better.
  17. Figured I already legally purchased it once. Can't justify paying $19.99 to purchase it again.
  18. stuck in this blizzard; me and just about every person in every state Colorado -> the east. :-(
  19. Thanks for the info. Had handbrake on my old Mac and it was great, but wouldn't work for commercial DVDs. Have you had success with purchased DVDs? If so, that's definitely the way I'll go!
  20. Hoping all the smart folks here can point me in the right direction. I'm trying weed through all the programs available that would allow me to convert a DVD movie I already own into an iTunes acceptable format, so I can ultimately put a few flicks onto my iPhone or iPod. I don't mind paying for the program, but there are so so many options out there, and (of course) they all tout that they're the "best." I'm not computer literate enough to understand the benefits of each. If it means anything, I run Windows Vista. Thanks in advance for your help!
  21. Meh, I'd care, but am still infatuated Kinect follows voice commands. Once you own a car, house, etc.... They have plenty of info on you that enters the creepy zone. I'm long over it.
  22. A news report here said people literally formed a human chain around a historic museum to protect it from the violence or looters. Pretty cool stuff.

Well, really Facebook and other social networking sites are a simple means of public organization that is still young. The potential of such networks and their footprint on global politics seems infinite.
  24. Once from Chicago to LA (CP) and once Chicago to Toronto (Matt good). Not often I go too far, but definitely a fun excuse for a trip!
  25. It's worth seeing the doc and having the testing done. The allergy meds they give you are infinitely better than anything OTC, and the testing itself isn't so bad. Least you'll know what it is!
