  1. Shining is a great movie, but an even better book. :-)
  2. Figured the EU pros were valid after listed items all appeared to be similar. Now that some have their physical copies, im definitely sure. Danish looks real, but im also only calling from similar regional promos. I'm waiting to learn more about the Japanese copy. I feel 'fake' since I have no other Japanese promo without some sort of serial, but also believing my friends here are correct, and that I may be eating crow soon. Still very curious about a US or Oz pro; was played quite a bit here. JackZ, nice pick up! I've seen them for $50, I've seen them for for $450. It's a solid collectable and I think you got it for a fair price, especially if it's M/NM condition. Congrats on the pick up!
  3. Lately getting several offering me discounts on a hip replacement. I might be in my 30's, but not sure I'm quite ready for any replacement parts. :-/
  4. Flintstones Viva RockVegas was pretty horrifying (thank you Aer Lingus), but my true horror classic is the original Halloween.
  5. Never heard back from my Japanese seller (prob home in UK through holidays). Still curious for him to shed light on the cd. So there's UK physical promo, and possible Japanese and Danish pro, but no Aussie, US or South American, etc... ? Wonder where else there were physical CDs distributed.
  6. WOW! $400 bones for the listed Japanese pro. Someone had a nice Christmas.
  7. It's the same as the UK release. When you import the CDs into iTunes, the program uses a database to 'recognize' what youre importing into your library, then fills in the release and track information. Sometimes I've had my library add little comments like that to material.
  8. Can anyone that obtained a copy of the promo Christmas Lights CD email me a photo of the CD top, insert &/or envelope? Not the pop-up, the radio promo. Thanks a lot! [email protected]

Very true; to each his own. Mostly makes me think I should've taken a different career path! Ahh well, it'll be a good retirement gig. ;-)

Why does this thing have seven bids? I promise, it's not worth the CDr and home labeling that were used to make it. I'll make one for $95!
  11. I don't disagree. Have an email into my Japanese connection. I'm mostly bothered by the lack of a serial. Don't think I have any Japanese promos (including an AROBTTH cassette) without a serial. Doesn't look bad (like that Safety ep), but throws me off a bit. I'll let you know if I hear any info before auction ending.
  12. It should have an EMI serial starting with TOCP-XXXX. I'd guess fake.

Can't remember which religion holds the belief, but it's stated you see your life, as it should be, before you are born. After birth, you have opportunities to take many paths. When you experience Deja vu, you're "remembering" your visions before birth, and thus are on the right track. Kinda goofy, but I always liked this interpretation.
  14. Been following them for the last few years. Crane Wife 3 is a phenomenal track.

mine has tv's in the ceiling; let you watch whatever you'd like. but eyes shut if its novocaine time. :-/
  16. Makes what less legitimate?
  17. Hey, please retract your bid. This cd is a terrible fake. Save your money for the real thing. This copy isn't worth anything.
  18. Colbert does a nice job of that daily.

One great station in Chicago plays them pretty regularly, and has since the release of Parachutes. Recently, I've heard Clocks, Trouble, Yellow, In My Place, Viva la Vida and Violet Hill. On rare occasion, another might slip in. Haven't heard Christmas Lights, but that won't really begin to play until next week. The Holiday station here is too enamored with Michael Bolton and Celine Dion. A few others still have Clocks on a pretty regular rotation.

Purely for entertainment purposes, figure to let it go a bit. Looking at the guys feedback, seems an honest seller. Give him the benefit of the doubt that he believes it is authentic, but will gently give him some info on the "non-Japanese" release tomorrow. Hopefully he didn't pay $1200 for the thing. /:-0
  21. Me too, but the lack of info legitimately feeds the insecurity about the items validity. If those fortunate to obtain a copy were willing to take a snap shot and share, minimally we can validate it is real and does exist. From there, you said it best, only time will tell the tale of its value.
  22. One of the worst copies I've seen in a long long time. http://cgi.ebay.com/Coldplay-SAFETY-EP-CD-Debut-3-T-JAPAN-Promo-CD-/260707563818?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_186&hash=item3cb361b92a#ht_573wt_922
  23. Agreed. Three different sellers with the same product that reportedly doesnt exist. Everyone that gets one needs to post for comparison.
  24. 98.4 feedback rating with five negatives in 12 months. Pro seems to be real; wouldn't go for it with this guy, though. Not sure if they changed the rules, but paypal used to require a minimum feedback rating for the non-responsive seller before filing a claim. Can't recall what it was.
  25. Zone Alarm is shit. Made my PC unbearably slow and unstable. May have "protected" me, but it's so bloated, I probly would have been better off with a virus. My BF is an IT guy. Removed Zone Alarm and did what other posters said... Get a reliable pay program that runs regular scans. Not sure what all your friend is running, but I've had Norton for a few years now, and visit whatever sites I'd like, download what I like... Zero issues.
